I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples and families. I have extensive experience working with the following issues: communication problems, marital distress, balancing the demands of home and work, work related issues, divorce recovery, children and divorce, conflicts in blended or remarriage families, step-parenting problems, infidelity, parent/child relational problems, and loss of a family member.

My approach to therapy is client-centered without any coercive therapeutic techniques. My professional style is based on developing a collaborative conversational relationship in therapy. Participating in therapy with me will involve a conversation in which you will feel heard, understood, and respected. You may gain a greater understanding of family and personal stories, which may lead to a greater maturity and happiness as an individual and increased relational harmony.

Full fee for the service is $75 per 50 minute session, however sliding scale fee arrangements are available. I do not accept insurance for two reasons. One is that a mental illness diagnosis could lead to complications later – for instance, in court proceedings such as divorce. Another reason concerns the limits of confidentiality, as insurers keep a national register of diagnostic information which can be attained by various parties.

You can contact me for a free phone consultation by calling message phone 503-715-0970 or cell phone 360-921-1449.
