Nearly 10 years ago I began work in addiction counseling. This expertise working with individuals averse to change developed humility, insight, and compassion, which I embrace while treating individuals wanting help with depression, anxiety, parenting, weight loss, life coaching, etc. My ideal clients are individuals who believe “something needs to change” and want help changing their lives. There is no one therapy that works for everyone; thus, I believe in the “power of you.” Utilizing my expertise I strive to enable you to realize and utilize your wisdom, and assist and empower you to implement positive changes in your life.
I have an extensive history of improving individuals’ mental, physical, and spiritual health. My expertise in holistic treatment approaches enables our work to incorporate wellness approaches towards your mental health needs.
Remaining humble and discerning we will acknowledge the wisdom in your insights and experience as vital to your well-being. Withholding judgment, we explore and discover your truth to gain perspective and empower your life. Check out my website shaunwehle.com to learn more about the services I offer.
A Little More About Me
I have known I wanted to get my doctorate in psychology since I was a teenager. The human mind and it’s workings has always been a fascination of mine. As I got older I became “the go to person” to talk to. My interest was sparked in college when I was offered the opportunity to volunteer and subsequently work at a drug treatment facility. I would continue to work in this field from this point on. This passion for helping people drew me to California to pursue my doctoral studies at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology.
Training at Fuller was of particular interest of mine because it offered me the opportunity to continue my research in motivation, while also allowing me space to explore spirituality, both personally and academically. As my journey continued, my interest in investigating change allowed me to conduct research and treatment in goal orientation, motivation science, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and other means of intervention.
Varied work environments and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of psychological struggles has prepared me to treat individuals for psychological, physical, and spiritual concerns. My passion and my hope is to do my best to help everyone I encounter live a better life. Reaching doctoral candidacy through my proposal of a modal applying motivational interviewing to an application based cellphone intervention expands this potential to help people. I continue to look for opportunities to make both large scale and personal changes to better the lives of all those I encounter.
