Why do I keep getting obsessed with certain people?

I'm not exactly sure how to even explain this, but ever since I started middle school I have been constantly obsessed with certain people that I consider role models or sister/mother figures to the point where it hurts. A couple of these people have been celebrities which made it easier to get over them, but a few were the actual people in my life like teachers. I've never really had a lot of friends growing up, just a few and I was never really close to any of them. I was always picked on at school and harassed. But I'm not sure what my real problem is. These individuals who I've looked up to and wanted to become like them were the ones I felt like I could trust and maybe become close enough to them so that I can confide in them about whatever that's happened to me all these years and I never told anyone about them. I feel like if I just tell one person that it'll be a relief and finally someone would understand me, but I don't know if actually doing this is a good idea even if I'm not in these teachers classes anymore. I'm so confused, because I don't know where this problem is coming from. I don't know if my real problem is the fact that I need to talk to someone about these problems I've experienced or the fact that I keep obsessing over people who may not even be interested in listening to me. Which causes which? Please help. I really need someone else's opinion on this, because I can't take it anymore. I'm in college now, and I feel like if I lose this last teacher's approval that I won't be able to succeed further in life since this person was the reason I'm still in school.

It sounds as if you want to find someone who you can confide in, a therapist would be that person.  I am sure that you would get the help your looking for and the answers to your questions. From your past experiences you may have difficulty trusting people. Didn't quite understand your last sentence as to why your still in school if you care to elaborate please do. Try not to stress over stuff you can't control.

Yes you look up to those people because you think you can do things if they are on your side. Try to keep your goals taking strength from yourself. Its a good thing you have them as your inspiration but its time to get to know more people. This is the real world. Just be yourself and trust yourself.
