CC.

Yes it seems us worker bees are being subjected to midievil tactics.Where's the honey?

I'm watching a bit of the Tudors and this is akin to how the peasants of the time were having their lands extracted, their labour and personal religious practices came under attack. What little they gained was being taken back.

It was all controlled by royalty and the church. Henry VIII was an absolute madman. Now we have Banks Corps and Governemnt working hand in hand , robbing us of our hard earned livlihoods.

Not much escape now since we're all tied into the monetary system.

I look at McGuinty in Ontario. The Ehealth scandal. The contracts going to friends, tenders not even open to the public. It's just a Big Ole private pary on our tax dollars. One Billion Dollars ( imitating Doctor Evil)

We're being robbed, and will be stuck with higher taxes when they get ousted in the next election.

Some poeple still have it good, but I'm sure most have had to dig into investments, liquidate or adjust some spending habits. Scale down.

For me. Bills, taxes, everything issued by Gov, and corps goes up while my income either remains the same or goes down.

It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have Credit reports always looming over our heads.

I care about My Country.

We have Harper. His Conservatives are hiding ALL the details for our economic recovery plan.

There is no disclosure whatsoever: cost of projects, companies given contracts, time frames for work done. So far the only info we get is locations of projects and Harper tells us 90% of the recovery plan has been under way.

No specific details?

At least in the states you can find this kind of info. Here it is all kept under wraps, and Canadians tend to be avoidant anyway.

In the states there's a ticker counting the dollars going into the war, and the rsiing deficit. No such thing here. Were left in the dark about everything.

From:

http://www.blogforiowa.com/blo.....12638.html

>>You can go to Huffpo or WSJ to read the story, but here's the part that is so annoying: Van Jones is called "radical" because, back in the 90's, "He was involved with the group Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM), which sympathized with Maoist-inspired peasant movements throughout the world and was organized to protest police brutality." How is it that sympathizing with peasants, and protesting police brutality, is a bad thing? His other sins: He signed a petition calling for an investigation into our country's own culpability in 9/11 (seems reasonable) and has attacked Republicans on their environmental positions (seems completely reasonable). This is an obvious, phonied up, smear, which the media are falling for hook, line and sinker because their apparent mission right now is to broadcast nothing but right-wing talking points, the crazier the better.

The conservative right have control of the mass media megaphone, and are able to make the preposterous things put forth by a few extremists, seem like they are ideas held by many.< < It continues about this so called "Fairness Doctrin". How open debate, and due process is being blocked in Congress to push through right wing agendas. Agendas that HARM YOU and I. >>So, if the goals of the Fairness Doctrine are fairness, balance, giving time to both sides of political controversy, Grassley is saying he is opposed to that as an outcome - not just that he is opposed to a rule, or an imposed guideline, as say, bad process - he is opposed to the goal itself. Read: Grassley is opposed to fairness. This is the creed of the GOP.

It is pretty transparent that the right-wing does not want to give up any ground, as far as their ability to dominate the airwaves with conservative propaganda (true, it is all they have left). They are gearing up now to make media ownership diversity the next big health care reform fight, and Van Jones was the first casualty. < < The Lunatics are indeed running the asylum.

Aw GEE CC!

Dead Bird?

Luscious, steaming, stuffed Gobble Gobble...MMMMMMMMMMM ( did that sound better?) Uh, creamy mashed and Graaaaavy, savory squash and brussels sprouts, Yams Cranberry ...apple pie or Pumkin? with Whipped cream!

It's raining out, and my good neighbours are tearing down the old wreck of a house next door. I mean there's a HUGE machine up there and I can feel the impact waves.

I am worried the whole hillside will colapse and our houses foundation will buckle! My adrenaline is spiking!

That would be one way to get the house repaired I suppose. At least our insurance is up to date, don't know about theirs. The house has been in shambles, abandoned for years...LOL(gulp)

Emly,

Better batten down the hatches there! How long do you expect they'll be at that? And then comes the re-building? Sounds like your in for some soothing background hammering & machine noise for ahile, huh? You'll just have to crank the stereo when you're around during the day, I spose.

Here in Alberia there's a thin blanket of snow all around. Damn this country - foresaken by God & government! Oh well, only another 6 or 7 months left to endure. lol My grandpa used to say "8 months of winter & 4 months of poor sleighing".

Okay, your din description sounds a tad better, I'll give you that.
I probably won't be writing a food column anytime soon. Lessen it was fer a redneck publication of sorts.

Glistening buzzard, velvety whipped taters, vegees n all the fixins. Each bathed in bird squeezins(gravy) Pies you say? Why, I'll have a thick slab of each please & thank you! Oh & don't be stingy with the whipped cream now, ya hear?

God, I'm gonna pay for this decadent weekend feasting! Muh - whadaya do though! He-he It's cool to cheat every twice in awhile, aint it?

Re - the Michael Moore docu.

I enjoy his stuff. It's entertaining enough except that he seems to have more of a socialist agenda. Capitalism isn't the prob really. He wants less Republican & more Democrat and that's not really the solution as the ruling elites support both parties anyway.

Good that he has shows appealing to the masses in exposing corruption within the system, but he seems to miss the real reason for peoples impoverishment and I think we all know who/what that is. Still wanna see it though regardless. I must like watching the greedy corporate folks squirm in his presence, I guess. he-he

Sounds like a plan. I've heard good things about Couples Retreat. Not sure what to think about Zombieland. Kinda bizarre. I like Woody Harrelson tho so, might be fun!

Bitsy,

Re - Obabma's prize

Al Gore won the token peace prize for his global warming crap. I'm sure this is just another move orchestrated to boost Obama's fallen poll numbers thereby helping him to implement his socialist agenda.

Like the Obama Health system bill that claims to compete with the insurance companies. I read that the insurance companies in fact actually support the bill. That would explain why the bill mandates that all citizens seek some form of health insurance, ie 100% coverage. A classic left liberal bait & switch tactic. These guys are not even the least bit interested in your health. Rather, they want to decide how UNhealthy you are, how much you pay for the crap they feed you & the power to decide when you die to decrease their costs.

Don't believe a God damned word that comes out of Obama's neck!

Ya, to put it layman's terms, it sucks, to say the least. Trying to ride things out here myself. I keep getting my hopes raised & then dashed on a regular basis. Actually more of the dashing going on unfortunately. lol

Let's keep our fingers crossed for this winter! Of course thats when Christmas has to fall right in the middle of! Like we need more expenses then, huh?

Bitsy: Can you still work the real estate desk and try to field calls? I think this season is when it slows down but usually picks up after the holidays. Hard to wait though, I know.

So here's my rant of the day. Twice I have gotten automated phone calls asking if I am a particular person. If yes, press 1, if no, press 2. Now why the hell would I answer something like that? So today they also had an 800 number so I called because I wanted to know who the HELL thought anyone would answer that stoopid question without knowing who the caller was. And YEP, I was right- it was a collection agency. So WHY is it ok for them to call people and harass them is they don't even know who they are calling!! So I told the person I am NOT so and so and to quit fucking calling ME. sheesh.

sd,

Yea the nerve of those people. They'll do anything for the sake of money, wont they?! Even harass folks at their homes with these ridiculous calls. Haven't ever had such a call myself but it sure does sound like an absurd question to ask & then realistically expect an answer to.

"Quit f-ing calling me" you said? lol Sounds like you got pretty fired up. Understandably tho.

Well, I know that you yankees have to wait another month or so but today I'm off to my Mom's for the long awaited Thankgiving feed. Hope your weekend goes smoothly!

I don't understand why some claim that global warming is crap. Not trying to "fight", trying to gain insight into this perspective. The great barrier reef is dying due to an increase in temperature, the polar icecaps are melting, earthquakes and hurricanes are increasing in intensity (Ike took up the entire gulf!, the recent tsunami was caused by a 9.0 quake on a fault that was not known to exist!, a supervolcano in Wyoming- Yellowstone, has moved into the "red zone" meaning that external stimuli can cause it to blow- these are but a few examples).

Al Gore thinks we can do something about it through minimization of pollution and respect for nature and natural resources. That's where, I think, he blew it. The magnetic field around the earth is weakening as planets in our solar system move towards alignment, and there's nothing we can do about that. This is, for example, what's causing the honey bee population to diminish, not cell phones as was at first thought. They can't find their way back to their hives due to the change in the magnetic field.

tell me, why is global warming crap?

respectfully,

andii

Hey CC: I'm envious! I can SMELL the turkey dinner- hope its great.

I guess what really riled me is that #1- I don't owe anyone and get annoyed when these collection agencies call me mistakenly and start harassing ME, when they are really looking for someone else, and #2- they used an AUTOMATED calling system to harass the wrong people? getting a tad bit LAZY in their sleezy collection biz and needlessly bothering innocent people for their own gain. Who needs that?

I used to get calls about someone with the same name and they would start out accusing me, threatening me, etc. So I started playing along with uh huhs, I see's, blah blah- and then I would finish up by telling them I don't have a Lexus, I've never had a Lexus, so I won't be paying for a Lexus, and to leave me the F alone, and take me off your call list. Then of course a dif person would call and we'd start all over. Grrrrrrrrrr...

So D and I didn't go to the movies.

I had to work yesterday, then we shopped for TG ( I decided to cook another small Buzzard On Monday just for us 3). Not disappointed about skipping the flik, we just wanted to hunker down at home. Have our own "couples Retreat" ( minus the HOT yoga instructor, hehe)

CC. You had TG yesterday? Now what for Sunday Monday?

Sd. I suppose we have to be cordial to telemarketters or collections!? HELL NO! I can't seem to hold back my disdain ( afterall those who take telemarketters jobs muct be desperate..) so good thing i have call display. I just don't answer #'s that aren't familliar or have 1_800 in front.

I get at least 3 calls a night from co's trying to sell something.

Good thing for me NOBODY has my name. Not on this whole continent. My phone # gets passed around from my Credit Crad providers.UGH!

My blood line is nearly extinct!

'Splainz a few things eh!LOL

On the 6-Oct-09 you wrote:

If 'lofty' is how 'some' see my writings then there is little that I can do about that. Thanks for the appreciation shown here.

And:

"Anyway, I'm not trying to bait you into a collective Buddhist bashing party by any stretch. lol"

I'm sure that you are not. But I am not that stupid that I cannot see through the 'baits' that have been laid for me here by others on this thread.I have better things to do with my time. But thank you just the same for asking.

And:

"Trust you're well."

Yep! Very well indeed. And I hope this post finds you the same.
