Apologies from me too, MsGuided. I really, really didn't paint or label you anything, and neither took offence, nor called you an offender. Honestly and truly.

But I suppose I did get too easily hurt when you seemed to show exasperation at my newly- realised & newly-admitted 'avoidant' ways.Ouch!

I was hypersensitive to ME on 'coming out' as a 'wimp'& insensitive to you... I see now that you were expressing how you felt about THAT BEHAVIOUR among your loved ones, & not about me personally at all!

If someone admitted to alcoholism, can you see that someone else's anti-alcoholic remarks in response might be hurtful?

But also, on reflection, I wasn't v responsive to the rest of your post with personal stuff and positive ideas. Unreserved SORRY for that.

So, please can we hug & make friends?
I know all about chronic depression ... with horrid crises every few years. We must overcome this monster somehow. Support, and, as you say, humour, can be life-savers, quite literally.

((((gazelle))))
I'm so happy we came to this.

It's just hard knowing how to reply, with the way we are all wired differently.

At least some sanity prevails! dispite our moods, hehe.

Peace!

If you have it love, you don't need to have anything else, and if you don't have it, it doesn't matter much what else you have. - Sir James M. Barrie

What is it that your are wanting? I think it completely depends on that. If it is a person..I believe that sometimes you just have to let things be..and see what happens. I have learned that I cannot make someone want to be with me..or control how another person feels about me. Sometimes, we act irrational and force ourselves at people..hanging on for dear life. The problem is..it won't change anything..it won't make that person feel any different. I think most people want someone who's feelings are mutual. We have to believe that we can be ok with or without someone. Boy, is that a hard one for me.

When I was little, my Dad and I used to have a tipping competition trying to pick the four winners of the local eight team football league for the next weekend. He use to say that I could pick the teams I wanted and he would take the ones I did not want.

He used to win year after year. I guess there was a lesson in there, somewhere. (lol)

"Be careful about what you wish for, because you just might get it."

There is also that quaint country and western song about the guy in midlife who did not get to marry his teenage heart-throb, Pamela Jones, and how glad he now feels that she rejected him.

When the door slams, look for the open window.
