Click delete where?  I highlight the words and do a right click but there's no delete option.  Only for a current post like this one.  Not one that's already there for everybody to see, already posted.

Hi Andii,

The site is under new management.  Our old SC is no longer with us.

Hi wd

I'm sorry to hear that.  I had hoped she was doing this or was at lleast a member of the team.

I think I added to unsettled feelings and I'm sorry.  I want to edit posts but I dont know how.  And can't figure it out.  I'm super tired and frustrated, I need to get to bed, people are going to be reading posts I wish I could dellete and if they upset you, please accept my sincere apology.Frown

click delete on your computer keyboard. At least that's how I did it. I deleted a post of mine to see if it worked.

I did the same thing with googling "chinadoll allaboutcounseling", and came up with some threads that I wrote & others wrote that had my name on them. This concerns me somewhat. I recognize that there is nothing on there with my real name/identity, but it is about my real life and sort-of private thoughts. Now I am not sure how much I really want to disclose about myself in the future.

yeah i did the same thing china doll, but honestly you cant even enter one of those alone, like "china doll" or "allaboutcounseling" alone, you need to enter both of them to find something on google with your nickname on it, and although i neevr tried it before, i wouldnt doubt it if before the site made the change, it was the same way, think about it, someone would need to enter your nickname and the site to find you specific thread, and spend who knows how much time reading to find something about you, not to mention they cannot trace anything to your actual name unless you post their real name, people can see my real name and city, but you know what? there are hundreds of people with my name and from my city, and dozens who are my age, no one in my real life knows about thsi website or my nickname, i see no way the two can be crossed unless i personaly post more information, which to be honest, i might do one day

Z, I understand what you are saying. I am not paranoid about it, tho'. My real name is actually very common, there are like over 1,000 others just in my city/county with my same name, and when I googled my actual name, there is also a very famous make-up artist, and another very famous artist/painter in my state with the same name, so they were the ones that came up, and not me. I guess I am not famous enough..LOL. And I don't want to be. I like being anonymous! Wink

Zarathrustra, you asked: "worried dad how do you know its a new adminstrater and not the old site coordinater? i havent seen anything that says 'new management'"

Answer...

Like I said, the new "look and feel" is pretty much evidence enough.  The fact that there was no prior (or after the fact) discussion of those changes from the SC is also telling.  I've been a member of the site since...can't remember..at least since 2002.  I can tell.

More conclusively, the only hard and fast rule, implemented for safety, the "anonymity guideline" has been tossed out the window, and no way would the old SC let go of that one.

Finally I wrote the site administrators and got an email back confirming that the site is under new administration.  It has been for about six months.

Other clues: The site used to be semi-moderated, but for last six months there has been ZIP in the way of moderation.

thanks for the answer worried dad, i have only been a member for about six months myself so that would expalin why i dont see the differnce, hope that you are getting used to the changes and getting a little less worried, it really isnt all that bad here, and the anonymesty (sorry i cant spell) is still optional, you dont haveto reveal any information you dont want to. i also have been in contact with the site administraters and they have been very helpful

Agreed. And it's as anonymous as we'd like it to be. Or so I'd hope.

I've considered PM-ing a couple of people here but still have some reservations about that.

Colour me paranoid? Confused

Na, just cautious.

I have mixed feelings about all the changes here.  I also feel a bit gun shy about Pm-ing people.  I think for now the anonymity is a good thing esoecially when one posting became ugly for me.

I don't know really how well-protected we are in this time of the internet.  Seems like you can find out just about anything.

I have noticed that there aren't many postings anymore - seems like some have decided to leave and for some the changes were too much to figure out.

Tez,

I like the formatting tools.

That's what I like about the new site.

Everything else I dislike.

Lani,

Yea, you may be right. The lack of participation would seem to indicate that a number of previous poster's are unsure about things here now.

Not as user friendly as the previous format, but of couse there are a lot more options now.

It really doesn't take a whole lot of time to figure out how to do some basic posting & the rest is just gravy.

I'm wondering if they've incorporated any site guidelines yet. Confused

Hey Craig,

What is really intersting is to note the different reactions of posters - some give up, some go into hysteria mode, some talk about big business, and some go with the changes.  I guess that's the whole thing of life - making choices about what to do.  This has been a good experience for me - to roll with the changes instead of just giving up.  It was especially important to me to keep coming here even though I experienced some serious bullying by a poster.  I had considered walking away but I recognized that this area of my life needed some tweaking.  Phillosophy so early in the am!

Hey LaniG,

Yea, it's fight or flight with some folks. As far as people hunting down fellow posters, I'm not seeing how the

new formatting would aid them in achieving that.

If big brother wants someones info, he'll get it. It ain't hinging on whether or not we use the new AAC.

Yep, I agree. Good exercise to 'roll with the changes'  cause they are always going to come around, like it or not.

So, we can sit it out or dance & personally, I'd rather kick up my heels a lil.  I think that 'cuttin a rug' trumps cowering.

Now if I could apply that to some other areas of my life, I'd be set! Smile

I don't recall your being bullied but moderators should be putting an end to that stuff if & when it happens to anyone.

Good on you for stickin it out. My ego isn't as frail as it once was. Words from some angry anonymous stranger. pfft!

They can kiss my ass & call it ice cream for all I care. hehe

Cc

p.s. What in blazes are ya doing 'philosophyzin' at 7:30 in the morning?! Laugh

My skull doesn't even wake up until after I've been at work for a couple of hours.

I'm sorry you were bullied lanigirl.  That feeling sucks.  I must have missed the thread.  I had gotten to where I didn't go to the site much anymore because it had happened to me as well and it just well, leaves a bad taste.  I missed what happened with you and with who, I would have jumped in had I seen it.  Just want you to know that.  Not that I could have done anything to help , probably would have made things worse, I'm just sorry you experienced that.
