I
would have died long ago without Jesus in my life. I love

Craig, The title of this thread is clear. it is a discussion
about what the bible says about the earth....what the BIBLE says.
If you want to debate the existance of God, maybe this is NOT the
thread to do it in, perhaps you should start one with that intent.
I am finished whith answering your attacks.

But to show that i
am not avoiding what you think is educated statement, I recommend
you go to the website that has the book "the journey" it is the
journey of an Athiest through the scientific arguements. Now its
been there a while, I read it about a decade ago and researched
from there. Again its called "The Journey" ...its free to read on
line. If you are too lazy to read it you can listen to the entire
thing. Then you will need to do your own research. I would like to
return to the topic, please.

No
one experiences freedom until they stop pushing against others. The
only thing that binds you is the pushing against that which is
unwanted. And so, if a religion could just be excited about what it
is, or a person within a religion could just speak with
appreciation about what it is, without justifying what it is by
pushing against everything else, then each religion, in all of its
difference, could be just exactly what you're reaching for. ---

Okay,
so what DOES the bible say about the earth? I don't wanna go read
it, somebody tell me. It's like 5k years old? I have a hard time
biting that one, but maybe time was different then, as in one year
being a millennium or something like that.

The
Bible does not state that man was to be the "steward" over all the
earth.

Genesis 9:1 "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto
them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the
earth."

It may say steward
in other interpretaions of the bible. My interpretation is that
their god commanded it - he gave them that job. The pay probably
sucks.

formerly,

I didn't attack
you nor do I expect you to answer to me. Sorry you feel that
way.

I was raised in a
xtian church going family so I've heard it all before in a hundred
different ways. Finally had enough of that manipulative nonsense
& broke free. Don't need the guilt shoved down my neck anymore.
There are a lot of interesting books in the world. The Bible is
only one of them.

andii,

Yea, 5000 years
old. lol 2 funny. And this book is to be taken seriously??
Please!

I'm not interested
in looking into what it says anymore either. Been there, bought
that T-shirt a long time ago. It was really a breath of fresh air
to finally have been able to rid myself of the dogma.

but open minds are growing minds...I enjoy reading what others have
to say...

CC, correct me if
I'm mistaken, but you seem so angry about Christianity. Is it
Christianity or PEOPLE who have hurt you so?

Hey
Craig,

I think you've
stated yourself clearly. As you know, I'm in complete
agreement.

I'm doing well -
family, friends, job, health, house... much to be grateful for. How
is all on your end?

Mary (not the
virgin)

Hello to all! Nice

Genesis 1:28

New international
version 1984

"God blessed them
and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the
earth and subdue it . Rule over the fish of the sea and the
birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the
ground."

King James
version

"And God
blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the
fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth."

This comes from: http://bible.cc/genesis/1-28.htm

The page lists the many translations up to now.

U know how a story changes when it passes from one person to
another, to thousands, and millions more?

Does this exerpt from the bible not denote stewardship? I have
to agree with ( ummmmmmmmm have to sort through all the non related
baggage throwing to find the origional poster) formerly? andii?
Remind me. I came in so late! ( yeay!)

The actual word "stewardship" doesn't have to appear for the
meaning to be present.

Hi (((GG [even tho i think u have some real corrosive issues,
but whatever] CC!!!, MaryPops_in[once in a while], tBt, Hep,
bevdee, formerly, andii)))

Gawd we all make mistakes. This site doesn't include "Perfect
Behaviour expected and enforced regularily".

Some never grow away from Codep hell.

I think the bible is part of the series of Codependent
handbooks. A very ancient editted version of human Codependence.
Maybe a new translation should include "Codependent" as part of a
subtitle.

"Jesus was a Codependent" and he had many followers. HA!

How on earth can people recover from codependency??!!

Jesus saves?

Ok I went off topic. Sorry.

Back to earth.

Hey
Mary

Glad things are
going good on your end.

Me too. Still
keeping busy. Feeling fairly healthy. I get out with friends
regularly but would appreciate a real holiday away from home. May
go stay with an old friend in Kelowna BC for a week if work lets
up.

Any holiday plans
for you?

andii,

I see many
problems as a result of religious beliefs. It's manipulative &
divides people but you appear to be blind to those facts. In
denial, just like a good little xtian is supposed to be.

This book was
supposedly written by the most intelligent being in the universe.
Wouldn't one expect each & every page to be utterly gripping?
You'd be in complete awe reading from cover to cover. It should be
an absolutely astounding piece of work that no one could put down.
But it's not. It's muddled, contradictory, ancient poppycock used
to control those without the ability to think
critically.

Like Bill Maher
says: There's a part of the brain that's 'walled off' in religious
folk. No logic or reason allowed.

MsG-
the original poster I believe was Destiny. She stated something
along the lines of us having failed miserably as stewards of the
earth. And the Bible says we are to be stewards of the
earth.

Well, we certainly
aren't doing a very good job. Seems like we are consuming
it.

CC, I'd have to
agree with you in that the Bible doesn't make much sense from a
logical or critical standpoint. And it's boring as heck. However, I
have found some useful things in it. I feel like you talk down to
me- no need CC, just not necessary ya know? I'm sure I've never
preached to you as I wouldn't know how, so- 🙂

Now I'm curious
about what all the Bible says about the earth. Gonna go google (I
love the advent of google) andii

hmmmmm

much debate on
whether the Bile says the earth is flat or round, a sphere or a
circle.

It's 6 thousand
years old.

Our role in
creation is to worship God and be stewards of the earth.

a quote: We hold
the resources and the earth as a “trust” for future generations.
...

Well, if the last
is a fact, we're definitely blowing it. At this point future
generations will inherit a polluted planet with no rainforests,
whales, Great Barrier Reef, coral reefs, Mountain Gorrillas (720
left in the world I think), etc.

andii- you said "Our role in creation is to worship God and be
stewards of the earth". What a great researcher you are.

Just wondering how
the churches, Christiens, plan to address this issue?

that's a good question, Destiny. Seems as though money received
by the Christian churches are spent on getting more people to join
and to support christian politics- anti-abortion,anti same sex
marriages, etc. Seems to be all efforts are on PEOPLE . Virtually
none on caring for the earth.

Perhaps I am
mistaken.

andii- yep. sounds about right 2 me. That is such old school.
Seems the priorty would be to save the earth. Literally.

You seem pretty
bright. Tell me do you know of any christien based church that is
taking, taking care of the earth seriously?

CraigCo- Thank you for asking about me. I consider myself well
behaved. Been taking care of an infant since he was one day old he
is now a healthy 9 month old and a huge blessing. Stood by my sons
side as he graduated high school in 2 1/2 years and is about to
start his third semester of college. I am really proud of my
kids.

andii,

"I'm sure I've

Ah c-mon - you
like to throw jabs at me here & there. I don't need to respond
in kind though, tis true. Caught me off guard I guess. Your were
spoiling my acid trip - sorry. 🙂

There is some
global warming going on but I believe that mankind's part in it has
been greatly exaggerated. Part of the fear mongering. A lot of
people have made a lot of money from this lie. Gore for one. Not to
say that we don't have the capability to bring about our own
demise. Much yet to unfold.

I guess an apology
is in order for wandering off of the thread topic. Oopsydoodle!
I'll make an effort to not get sidetracked again.

Raising an infant.
Wow! You must still have a lot of get up & go left in ya. I
remember it well - raising mine. I was a busy feller but they've
turned out well & I am happy for them. Decent & respectful
young men. Your son sounds well on his way. Good for you &
yours. Much to be thankful for, right?!
