The belief in the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This life is just a test, stopping place to try to learn to repent and forgive. We are eternal beings and this life, however painful is only a few moments in eternity.

I am a Mormon. through and through tried and true, and true blue.

I don't demand that you accept my belief. I only tell you of the wonderful feeling of completeness the gospel has given me.

We are the literal spirtual children of a Heavenly Father. We chose to come to this earth to gain a body and to learn to be more like Him. We cannot remember what it was like to be with him. We must have faith in Him and in His son. Who atoned for the sins that we would inevitably make.

I offer my beliefs simply. They are precious to me and I tell them hoping that they will help.

lewis,
I think that some people don't need a reason or purpose for life. Others find it good to know there is a higher power.

Not sure anyone can answer your question but yourself.

Thanks, I asked because my parents were mormons years ago and sometimes they still visit them. I've always noticed how happy and complete they seemed.

I know nobody can answer this question of mine but me, I simply like to see if others are on the same path, I find it comforting.

Your beliefs do help, thanking you 🙂

My real Motivation in life is my LOrd and Saviour and my sweetheart, ((((Jesus Christ)))). The 2nd one is my adorable kitty PPP! Period.

Had I not had these 2 folks in my life...I wouldn't have stayed alive with all the traums, abuse, injustice, lack of love that took place in my life ever since I was a kid.

Part of my motivation is that I want to keep on because I want to live my "next 40 years" happier then the first. I've learned some new life skills and I am much happier than I used to be. I have confidence that my future will be better than the past. :~)

One, because I'm just very nosy and I want to see how things play out over the next couple of decades that I hope to be on the planet.

Two, because I'd like to be a part of helping things to play out in a positive way.

Three, my sweet niece and her family.

Learning new things.

Loving and being loved.

Life is full of surprises. So far no matter how bad it gets, it always turns out okay. I have a hope and I have faith, and acting on my faith is the key.

Great thread, great just reading what everyone has said! 🙂

Hope.

I love the title of Barack O'bama's book, "The Audacity of Hope".

I love that. Audacity...synonyms from dictionary.com: bold,nerve, spunk, temerity...

I think in order to have Hope in today's world, one must be bold and one must have nerve...

I have Hope. I struggle with Faith, but I always have Hope...

And then, there is Love.

I love. I am loved. In the end, that is what gets me through the day.

I hope that I will one day find meaning in even the most painfull of questions.

I hope that I have purpose, that my being here is for a reason, and that one day, I will know that reason.

I hope that I will give more positve to this world than negative.

I hope that I will live to see a day when, both achingly personal and on a much larger and ultimate scale, I will live to see the day when love conquers all fear, hate is eliminated and justice is found.

I hope that true love really does conquer all.

I hope that I will be able to teach my kids to love, rather than to fear.

I hope that I will break the cycle. That abuse ends with me.

I hope that I can give back to this universe more than I take.

I hope that somehow, some way my existence will touch and enhance someone else's.

I hope......

I have struggled w/ wanting to leave this earth. I almost did it in my early 20's and then found I was pregnant. I guess I have stayed mostly because I don't like my kids' choices if I were gone. The only one livin at home now is my 14 yr old. I have to be honest and say that I still struggle w/ just wanting to end it. I hate my illness; it takes a lot from me.

But, reading your posts has givem me some insight. I think I also stay coz I don't believe you can commit suicide and go to heaven. That I don't even wish on my evil-ex even if he does deserve it. I feel God has not given me life just so I could throw it away. I believe God DOES have a purpose for me here on this earth. So, I stay. But, ya know there are times life just gets so overwhelming. I get really tired of bein ill all the time.

Not tryin to turn your thread negative, just bein honest.

I think I agree with you mama and I also am in the position of, there is no one else but me here to raise my child...I also think your honest and I don't think your negative at all...negatively gets a bad rap these days, sometimes we have to be realistic and say things the way they are, cause to say differently is to lie to ourselves and those around us.
