Interesting hypothisis here. That our preferances in aquatic creatures may lend some insights to our seeking a mate. Not entirely far fetched, considering water is often a subconcious tie to emotions, and therfore the creatures in water could represnt the inhabitants of our emotional evnironment... so... What is your favoite water critter?

I had a very expensive red bellied pirannah during colledge. her name was Ragnarock. She ate all the other fisies, crabs, tube worms, snails in the tank.

I eventually just started naming new fish Lunch, Dinner, Treat, Midnight Snack, etc.

She was very affectionate, blowing kisses to anyone who put their face by the tank or walked away from it (often knocking our her teeth in her amourus fevor.. she grew new ones daily)

When I moved to california, I had to sell her back to the pet store, but I made money as she looked so good.

What does this say about my dating objectives?

Going out a limb on this one, and it might crack and fall...cuthul, your dating objectives: 1. You appreciate smart and good looking women, and they have to have spunk...hince the "teeth"...but when they get involved with you, they get hurt, but keep trying...you lose interest, but you gain much from a relationship, and move on.

Just speculation...not a genie, and I don't know you! How is everything going with you by the way..have not read a thread by you in awhile, has thre been any postive changes with your girlfriend?

Heh, that is funny.

That is supprisingly accurate. Quite insightfull of how I dated formerly before The One. (since water is so tied to our emotions, could what fish we like relate to our dating preferances?)

Nothing new or good regarding the ex. I wish she woudl come back, but I think she did the biting in this fish tale. Yep, I certailny feel like one of the feeder fish, still swimming around, wondering where their midsection went. (fish are odd). Guess I am sorta ok, back in player mode, just to cover the hurt, but would rather have love.

She did send me a email that my son was trying to contact her, but she was mostly paranoid that he was going to ask her why she left. (GOOD QUESTION!)

Are we getting off topic?

Dating? Women? Relationships?

I thought we were talking about fish.

I dunno, the whole thread seems a little fishy to me.

Hi Gully, what kind of fish are you would you say?

CUTHUL, one more realization..maybe it is time to stop looking in the fish tank and get in there and swim with the pirhannas?...as it seems you have complete control over the situation? Just thought I would say that? It does not seem that you are afraid of anything, or that this would apply to you from what I have read...but we are talking about fish and dating patterns. Whoops, the limb broke, there I go-o-o-o-o-o-............

OMW

That is a darn good question! I have never thought of that. I am not being sarcastic or anything, but it kind of stopped me in my tracks. Really, it did. Kind of out of the blue.

I don't know. I am going to have to think about that, cause I can't think of any off hand.

Well, my least favorite is the stingy jellyfish.

Favorite? Thats difficult. Dolphins are cool, so are the black-and-white whales. But crabs, sea anemonas, corral reefs and the colourful tropical fish are also quite fascinating.

Does that mean that I can't decide what kind of mate i'd like? 😉

Hmmm, thinking more about this...

It could be said, that I am willing to swim with fish that can hurt me as well. I guess it it a willingness for me to take risks.

As for me, I think I most associeate with an octupus really. Inquisitive, flexible, predatory, yet incredibly gentle. They are neat critters. Wonder what that means.

How about you OMW, what fishies do you like, do you associeate with?

Hmm..

How about, if you have had, or could have an aquatic pet, what has it been?

Eve, I can see a lot of different desires there. Dolphins = playfullness. Killer Whales = strenght. Reefs = family, home, etc.

Pure speculation on my part.

eve, also, in picking the aquatic animals from the deep...commitment may mean something special to you...no nonsense relationships?

cuthul...an octopus,,, with all of those arms and tenacles...are you looking for someone to hold you and stick around for awhile?

me? I also love dolphins but also like the star fish..maybe the same principal...star of Bethehem, stars guide us, or did in ancient times..and they do not go very far...and looking for commitment...yep...and they are grounded, and with dolphins, I like a grounded guy that is not afraid to let his hair down once in awhile!!any other insight for me and starfish?

You know, I was thinking octopus too. Though first I thought of a whale or a dolphin, but those aren't fish.

I am petrified of water while in it, unless on a big boat or yacht. what does this say?

Creatures from the sea???

That would have to be the dolphin. I would like to do the swim with the dolphins but I do not swim. That's a problem.

I do think the simple creatures that swim very deep and have electric lights are interesting. don't know the name.

Then the octopus intriques me; all those arms; either more to love you with or more to control with. What do you think?

Whales, dolphins are mammals.....but cuthul did say creatures.....so I think anything goes?

Sew,
Petrified of water unless you are on a boat, etc. may mean you are afraid right now of being hurt again, so you are going to stay on the surface in a safe place to carry you for awhile.

A dolphin, you do not swim...you like to play, like relationships where you can be yourself, not to serious for you right now, but you also would like for someone to take over for awhile, as you are open to learning new things from someone.

Simple creatures that swim deep with electric lights..

You like deep commited relationships, actually may seek them out, as in the word "deep", but if you cannot see them for who they are, and if they are not open and honest with you..i.e. the electric lights, then you do not go to near them, you keep your distance, i.e. what you said, "don't know the name".

The octopus, mentioned last, is your ultimate goal for a guy..loving, stays with you, a powerful person, but not overbearing...can take care of himself, knows his power, but keeps in underqraps, and only uses it for good.

I AM HAVING SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS thread..wow!

Interesting feedback.

Octa: Yes, all the arms, the way they move, entwine, envelope are similar to the way I move I have been told. I love wrapping my body around another, curse my bones for makeing it awkward. Probably hit a truth tho, with the control topic too.

Whales are sea critters. I suspect they are the most human of all of them, being mammals. Strong, powerful, nurturing I would guess.

Starfish: They grow back. Someone who can take loss and recover.

Oh yeah, pearl farmers used to catch them, chop them in quaters and throw them back to die. (they eat the oysters you see) Unfortunately, one arm and some body is all it takes to grow a new starfish clone. IE ever time they did that, they essentially created more starfish. Ooops.

Im really enjoying the priannah/octa parallels. Octas are also incredibly expressive, but very guarded and like to stay hidden too. (We have one at the aquarium... did you know not only can it get a crab out of a sealed jar, but it will even hold on to the jar untill it gets hungry? so cool)

Heheh im a Octa looking for my pirannah love. rofl.

interesting pop psychology here

cuthul...another limb.
I am getting someting about what you said earlier...you name them breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack..and then in the thread above "will hold in a jar until it gets hungry"...something about either 'using' someone for your own purposes, even though you love them, and giving them cute little nicknames to suit your own purpose, but not their's?
Or the positive tilt is that you are very protective and caring about the women you date?

AH...let him take care fo the kids for awhile, the irresponsible jerk!! He always talks about his problems, thinks he knows everything--"onec the male gives birth, he usually becomes pregnant again right away".

Hi Twinks...just a guess, all in fun, but it is kind of amazing how this thread is going. Cuthul started it, but thought about strarting one about horses...dare I?

I jumped on this thread out of pure curiosity. Hope I'm not intruding.... What about the manatee? That is my favorite sea creature. They just seem so gentle and safe. I'm also kinda intrigued by the sea dragon (like a seahorse, just more dramatic).

I also find the deep sea creatures (the ones that some people don't even realize exist), like the fish in "Finding Nemo" with the light?

Analyze me, someone.....please?!!!!

But he did make one just for me, it's really pretty too.
