I discovered a very good book several yrs ago in my walk of life. Wanted to share it with you as I do see a common theme here at times.

It seems I am passive. Not only am I passive, but I am off the charts passive. I kinda knew this about myself but it was recently confirmed how bad it was by a personality test I took for "fun". (why does "fun" always seem to bite me in the ass?).

Anyway, along with being passive (thank you mommy dearest for beating me into submissiveness and passivness), I am also easily manipulated (big surprise).

One day in my desperate need to find a way to stop being a doormat, hurt from being used by a friend once again, I discovered a book in the self help section of the bookstore that helped me tremendously. Its called:

"Whos Pulling Your Strings".

What I discovered from this book is that manipulations can be very very subtle. This helped me identify those subtle gifted manipulators in my life and gradually wean myself away from them.

I hope this helps some of you in your struggles as well.

the wall, thank you...I could identify with many things, such as being easy manipulated.

Do you think you were always like this? I am not sure if I was or not. I just know that it is worse now.

Wow this is good news and I am excited for you the wall. I believe as we heal, we start to have 0 tolerance for abuse and abusers since we understand them and their games.

Gongrats and thanks for sharing your success story!

gg,

I can remember being so out going as a little girl, bubbly, laughing, with lots of silly girl ideas and dreams. So no, I dont think I was always passive.

Everytime I would verbalize my thought, my dreams, or would question why I was getting beaten in the middle of the night for something I did not do, I was beaten more and told not to "back talk". So I learned as a 3 yr old, 4 yr old, never to share my thoughts or my opinion and never ever to stand up for myself from anyone in authority. Is it any wonder that I had never told anyone about being molested by an uncle for 6 yrs as a teen? or about being raped by a boss at 25, a rich dr who is also a bible study teacher? :-S Makes me sick to see what the abuse can do to soemone even when they are supposidly old enough to stand up for themselves. But I'm learning. And I dare any f a-hole to touch me again. 😀
