Why, do you suppose that so many folks are in just such an uproar about this?

OK ya'll - I'm just putting it out there...

Surely it speaks about him - but, more importantly, what does it speak about us to be so devastated that our squeeky-clean 'hero' has a few human flaws?????

I think, personally, to some degree, it has to do with a so-called major celebrity 'branding' of late in which we think about these folks themselves as a THING to begin with and not as a PERSON - doncha think?

And while I am at it.....just when in the world did popular celebrity-type folks all of sudden cross the threshold from being just a plain-jane person into an all out-all 'brand?"

A brand????

Like - something that is a non-person????

The first time I heard about this was with Queen Latifah. Like - she 'branded' herself into all of these commercial type areas.

What's up with that? You know?

Makes me just scratch my head in confusion.

A celebrity person is now just a brand????

Oi Vey! Maybe I just have to go to my local library and check out the book by Douglas Rushkoff: "How The World Became A Corporation And How To Take It Back"

Soooo, in this light, it would seem, that IF a celebrity chooses to identify themselves as a mere non-human type brand of and about themselves and reap all of the $$$$ benefits of said actions because of this certain, major corporate identity (ies), would it not be just as likely to say they must then bear the brunt when said brand is no longer so bright and shiney and once thought of and obvioulsy exudes a rather lack-luster and 'dingy' of the brand as a result????

And just who IS to blame?

The brander? The brandie? The stupid masses that obviously make it possible thru the vote of dollars in the first place of purchase of said brand to think that they can somehow vicariously send among themselves the sentiments of said brand and think/fool themselves into somehow believing that by purchasing a product endorsed by the grand master that they too - will be of equal match simply by the purchasing of the product?????

Is it no wonder that we are upset with Tiger?

No, not really for him as a person, but what it says about US as a gullible, idiotic, infantile consumer forever looking for our own "Superman" of sorts....!!!!!!

tBt

It's not just keeping up with your neighbors or friends anymore... you know ... the 'peer pressure'.

We seem to have lost our own individual identities or personnas... and want to mimic those who really don't deserve it...

But I seem to see this a lot in younger people. Too much time spent in front of the 'boob tube' when growing up?

I got concerned when the children of people that I know or knew... would repeat lines from cartons, tv series, movies... and what was even worse... COMMERCIALS. Some only WATCHED the commercials... and this was before they were ... what? eight or nine years old?

just venting, tBt.

Frankly, I'm more disappointed in the women who knew he was married, then in him. What, 13 or 14 of them?

So am I, Hep, but that is the way things are... I think they did it to feel like they 'bagged' a biggie. No morals or integrity?

Well, at least Tiger is not a 'serial killer'... (THOSE women, who go for serial killers, murderers, etc.... I REALLY do not understand!)

Perhaps, the 'fame' went to Tiger's head and the little head took over!

It is just wrong!

Yeah the little head took over, Truth, but he's famous & on the road a lot so, it shouldn't come as any real surprise to learn of his seed spreading endeavors. If it were Jo-blow from down the way nobody would give a rat's ass. Pretty stupid of him to think he wouldn't eventually get caught though, after doing so many broads. His dick n mine don't have a lot in common although I did have one extramarital close encounter that I couldn't follow thru with ultimately. I was overwhelmed with guilt for going as far as I did. But..enough about me. Back to that "evil" Tiger guy.

Having sex w/ a celeb could be a big break for these women. Talk shows, books, secret payoffs, etc.

And maybe, just maybe, he'll marry one of them. And then cheat on them too. And on and on it goes.

Why Tiger thought he was going to get away with it is the mystery. If he thought keeping a low profile was the way to be squeaky clean and keep making millions on his endorsements, well- he blew it, big time. Just one of his paychecks would be incentive for me to walk the straight and narrow. Now he loses his wife, his kids, his endorsements. And he has a whole new image!

Plus when he went into hiding, he was also showing guilt, don't you think? At least he didn't have any press conferences exclaiming his innocence.

They are probably the ones who leak the news to the media.

I just hate hearing it but it reminds me that people are imperfect; all of us. Being a huge celebrity must come with lots of pressure.

Poor Tiger. Now he has to suffer the life of a rich single athlete on only half a billion dollars. The kids are the ones who suffer the most but if anyone has the resources to make things go as smooth as humanly possible, he does.

Fuck Tiger Woods.

Obviously the guy is rich enough and cute enough that he probably has as many hrny groupies as Mick Jagger. And he is a heck of a lot cuter than Mick.

The sex lives of celebrities? I could not care less unless it's a politician running on a morality plateform.

The guy has a major problem. I hope he gets help, but I am not going to follow the story.

But again I am with CraigCo on this issue: I feel sorry for his family.

I heard the comedienne, Wanda Sykes, say that when all those women started coming forward saying they'd slept with Tiger, she started thinking that maybe SHE had, too. Then she said, "Oh, of course I didn't. I'm black."

Mary P,

And Wanda forgot to mention that she is Gay... probably not interested in Tiger!
