I cite the converation I saw today on the Charlie Rose show with George Soros.

Link:

http://www.charlierose.com/sho.....orge-soros

By Far....a very intelligent man whom really DOES seem to have his pulse directly placed on the situation.

He talks about mentalities within the current US economy - about how "trends/equilibrium will just naturally balance themselves out as being a terribly WRONG assumption" that are quite unpopular....but oh so true.

To that end, there are many, many other interesting guests that Charlie Rose has interviewed lately in addition to George Soros.

Most notably, in addition, for me - John Hofmeister, CEO - (Royal Dutch?)Shell US (soon to be retired....soon to voice his opinions in an upcoming book....)who went on record as saying as far as Ethenol (corn-supplied) is concerned - he is against it because you DON'T WANT FOOD COMPETING FOR ENERGY!!!!!

Which brings me back to the Soros interview today in that while we have experienced the past IT bubble...the current Credit/housing bubble....what seems to be on the horizon (Brace yourselves Americans...) is a commodities bubble...where gold, metals and FOOD are involved.

This stuff is getting serious here folks!!!!!!

Thank goodness for Charlie Rose - is all I have to say.

It seems to me that alot of the "older white guys" are finally coming out and proclaiming what exactly is wrong with the current US economy/energy/greed of it all and I for one am grateful that the PBS platform delievers this important information to the masses.

(Notwithstanding Lee Iococa's Book on: "Where Have All The Leaders Gone?" not too mention the general concensus to the extremely rich of...."How much Is ENOUGH????")

Evidently, from what I can gather - and this is only my opinion here....that at one point in this countries' history - it was AOK to support and to partake in the Capitalistic frame of mind...."within a sub-concious REASON...." But here - in recent years....it has pretty much taken an unprecendented turn towards actual GREED and let the economic fallout (like a cookie crumbling) wherever they may fall.

Take this mindset to the extreme with no fore thought....and you realize that without a middle class in America...there will eventually BE no one to purchase ANY goods.

How much is enough????

True - we aren't maybe in a recession....We Are THERE!!!!!

From what I can gather so far....the new double-digit growth of China and India will now make their previously "cheap goods" all of us could go to Walmart and purchase more comptetitive with American goods because of their growth and consequesent higher price of any said product.

But - by the same token - we as Americans have to be vigilent to acknowledge that the price of "Food" in general is not swept away in all of this current and currency.

You think that the past IT and current credit/housing bubble has bust......that's NOTHING when you think about the commodities market....up to and including our FOOD!!!!!!!!

Damn skippy on a Hank Williams Jr song....."A country boy can survive...."

It may well all come down to that!!!!

Learning how to run a trout line..........

I am NOT an alarmist. Please understand that.

But I think that we as Americans are not only facing an "Inconvienent Truth...." we are in the midst of a very RUDE awakening!!!!!!!

I don't know where I would be had it not been for the extremely compelling conversations with folks that Charlie Rose has been recently interviewing to really help me get a real grasp on this whole situation!

Ted Turner (whom just happens to be in my neck of the neighborhood "The Mouth of the South" in Atlanta) has gone so far as to say that...eventually.... unless something changes....we will eventually become canibalistic.

I am sure that many scoff at this idea!

He cites that the current American agriculture system which currently, in this country exhausts somthing like a foot and a half from the below low ground aquifers each year which is currently only replenished by a mere few inches each year via rain.

How long so you suppose this can go on??????????????

Ted Turner is a visionary.

Always has been.

When he says something "ahead of his his time" which he has always seemed to do.....(and predict) dog gone it -I listen!!!!!!

Water...I repeat...WATER will eventually become a commodity much more precious than gold....and don't you know that while we can go without energy etc....water....I repeat WATER...is essential to all human life form!!!!!!!!!!!!

We simply can not go without it.

Water could quite possibly BE the next most important economic commity!!!!!!

For without it.....none of us could survive!!!!!!!!!

Scary fricking times we live in!!!!!!!!!

Food I beleive will become this way too...when I don't know. Pretty soon they will be making a salad for our gas!..ha, just kidding, that 's a joke.

But it is freaky. Sometimes I think that everything may turn back into the WWII era with a slight communist rule in place. REmember Jews were required to have their "ID" cards on them at all times? Sometimes I wonder if we are headed in the same direction, but I suppose that may be a little far fetched.

The thing is, if fear is introduced such as loss of food and water, then the public automatically begins to think or imagine other atroscities. What you have ot ask yourself is, is it true what the media is portraying, or are they trying to illicit fear?

What is crazy is that our country is changing from what we have always believed it to be.

You ask: "Is it true what the media is portraying?...or are they trying to illecit fear?

Good, solid question.

I think - though I am anything BUT a fear mongerer....(have actually consiously set myself NOT out to be as such.....)the fact remains, sadly, that this all just may well be what it all actually boils downs to.........

A very INCONVIENENT and RUDE-AWAKENING truth for us all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here.

Believe you me....I WISH that it was not true.........

But sadly - it's seemingly so.

Best to be prepared. (That's all I'm gonna say..........)

(Getting down to the real nitty-gritty of life!!!!!!!!!)
