For all here that are Jewish - best regards for a new and exciting New Year!

Truly, as far as I am concerned, it is one of the very few organized religions/traditions which actually invite commentary and questioning of the Torah commandments/implications in an effort to further propel another type of contemporary/modern perspective of trying to decipher and
weed through a very ancient text into a possible modern context and implications in an effort to serve all of us well in these modern times.......and also in an effort to try and make some kind of sense of it all!

LA'Chaim!

(((( Lil Bro )))))

Happy New Year! My old boss just reminded me today what this holiday is, as he is Jewish... He said in a joking way that maybe someday I'll know what all the Jewish holidays mean and all. When he first called this morning he asked me if I knew what it meant and my first answer was "I think it's when you do that atonement thing" he laughed and then explained it to me again, for the 10th time.. I don't think he's told me 10 times but I let him think he has.

As a Christian minister (with Jewish attendees at many of our gatherings), I always honor and celebrate the major, Jewish Holy Days. We had a special dinner and service (including the blowing of the shofar) for Rosh Hashanah) and are taking a prayerful approach (one of self-examination and reevaluation of goals, etc.) as Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) approaches on the 28th.

Caraway -

Happy New Year (5770), my friend!

(( H&P - MA ))

Just checked in after some days away. I hope all is well with you both. I need to get caught up on what has been going on here.

I am enjoying the end of an entire week of NO BACK PAIN!! I have finally found some relief after almost 2 years now. I don't know how long it will last, but I am just so happy and thankful that I feel like hugging everyone I see. I didn't realize how much this was affecting my mood, patience, and motivation to participate in life really.

Never take your health for granted..

XOXO,

Cary

Hi Cary,

So glad to hear your good news about your back!

(I can't imagine the relief you must be feeling after 2 years!!!!!!)

Do you mind if I ask you what helped you? Was it accupuncture or visits to a chiropractor maybe? (spelling?)

I think that it is so important here to let other folks know what has worked for us.....

You are so right, never take your health for granted........

truth,

I have tried it all.... I went to an accupuncture MD with great reputation nationally for 6 intense visits, did not work.

The chiropractor helps but is not full relief and short term.

I had facet injections that didn't work and as a last ditch effort tried another doctor recommended by a friend and the injection worked. It isn't painful to have done, takes about 20 minutes, and I have total relief. There is no way to tell how long it will last, so I am going to allow him to burn the nerves that send pain signals when this wears off. It should give me the same effect and last longer.

I had become so angry, irritable, and just miserable with life.

I am truly glad to hear that you have found relief. Chronic pain wears all of us down and alters our personalities...not for the better, either.
