Guilty pleasure. Foulmouthed and stupid beyond hope. I laughed a lot.

My favorite part was the sex scene between two sexless marionettes.

After that, I thought it was funny appropriate how every time the Team "rescues" somebody a priceless nstional monument gets destroyed somewhere.

We live in jaded, dangerous, sad times.

My favorite part was a song that they recycled from South Park. If you've got to get good at something real fast, there's only one way to do it... MONTAGE!

Just my film school memories coming back to me. That episode of South Park came on right when I was writing my script. I was trying to figure out what I should put in a montage segment when that song came on. I immediately downloaded it off the net and have it accessed through an icon on my desktop. If I have to write a montage, then that song has to play.

They changed it slightly for Team America. It used to be "sports traingin montage," now it's "simple little montage." It's still funny as hell though.

I haven't seen the movie but am looking forward to it. I'm a HUGE fan of South Park. Many people don't see the appeal, but there is a rock solid point made in every single episode! I'm guessing the same about "Team America."

I never liked South Park... For personal reasons. However, in the past year I began watching it occasionally.

I don't hate it anymore. =) And I'll admit, they do make some good points. (As Ren'ai previously stated)

Oh, and the gaga about an Actor being the only thing to save the day.

There was a line that went something like "Your team went in without you, and without an actor they were defenseless!"

My favorite part... when they sang the theme song real slow and sad.... "America... fuck yeah..." all dolorously.

Dolorously, I don't think that's actually a word, and there is a distinct possibility that I made it up just now, but you probably get the idea. 🙂

gingerleigh,

When I read the word 'dolorously' I thought of a mixture of 'delirium' and 'glory'. =)

Oh wow. *LOL* I was way off! dictionary.com says that 'dolorously' is: “Marked by or exhibiting sorrow, grief, or pain.”

Are you kidding? Here I thought I had made up a word and it already existed. Dammit. So much for creativity.

Aww... Well, this is what I think happened: You typed the word into your computer and immediately the sensors and bugs of (insert choice conspiracy here) went to work on taking 'dolorously' and making it their own! Thus dispersing it around the world including into dictionary.com!

It's bad enough Spotswoode put him through that, but he had to make sure to out him first in front of the team and then to the whole world on television!

"If I may step in for a minute?"

Just popping my head through the door to say, "You guys, are cracking me up! I saw the movie a few weeks ago, so I don't remember the entire quote... but it has something to do with the philosophy that there are 3 kinds of people in the world..." need I say more?

Hi SC,

I don't thnk I have had as much fun with potty mouth since I was seven years old!

I love how the wierd little philisophical tidbits would get repeated throughout the movie, as if to give legitimacy to the gobbeldygook.

It had a Monty Pythonesque, almost surreal quality. Of course the authors deny any deep intent.

The thing about the world being both endangered and saved by Actors is amazing--have you heard about the Arnold for president movement for changing the constitutional requirements so that foreign borns can run? Wow.

I nearly died laughing when they showed the mannequin staggering out of the bar and vomiting profusely. It just went on forever, and the dramatic soundtrack made it so hilarious!!

Oh my god, I haven't had to close my eyes during a movie since I was about 12. But the vomit scene... I had to shut my eyes or lose my lunch.

So a poll... do you think that when my husband is home from Iraq I should take him to go see it? Or do you think it would piss him off?

I don't think you can anymore. It's not playing in any theaters around here.
