Good idea, AW, ler's let it go over there; so sneezing, huh?

I have this strange phenomona that happens half the time I sneeze. I cough first, which triggers a sneeze, but not just coughing. It is a coughing tickle, then I sneeze big time. Strangest thing.

Sometimes my allergies cause me to sneeze.

Even worse than hard nipples... I nurse my daughter still, and when I sneeze, I get two wet dots on my blouse!

I also get an eye twich sometimes, like a little vain being strummed by my temple.

Does anyone know about 'gazunetite'? I heard that it means something really mean and they say it to scare out the devil since your system shuts down when you sneese and you are susseptable to him!

ROFL!!!

EF. maybe THAT is why they say it when you sneeze? It is German, for bless you or God bless you...maybe so the evil spirits do not enter?

Anyway, when you sneeze, your heart stops, your eyes close, yes, you stop. Cute, very cute you are.

I do remember the 'let down' with nursing; it does have it's challenges. Especially when out to the movies or where ever and you hear another baby crying it happens. And yours is at home and what a diemna!

yeah, that just happened to me for the first time the other day--I'm starting to ween (slowwwly), but she's almost a year and so it's not often such a problem, but this little new born was crying bloody murder, and all of a sudden...! Thank goodness I had a sweater! I tell you, it's nothing to sneeze at, this nursing thing...

n Nothing to sneeze at; funny you are

But I think it is great at your nursing, so many wonderful benefits for both of you. Mine went from nursing; breast to cup, so it was a long time, she had to just before naps and bedtime as we weened off. Bottle for juices, of course. Do you belong to the La Leche League? They are great advocates and supporters for moms.

OOOps....this was to be a fun thread, but we were talking about boobies, so we dither off elswhere, AW.

ah, if only this thread where called funny things about nipples...

No leleacha, but I do have a breastfeeding group. It can get greuling, but for the most part I'm so glad that I do it. My back hurts sometimes, but she is so healthy and alert, and our bond is incredible.

OKOKOK, sneezing! When my daughter was born, she would get hiccups before she sneezed--my legs where still numb from the epidural, and I couldn't walk to her warmer (she was only a couple of hours old) a few feet away, so when she started hiccuping I pushed the call button and started screaming because I thought she was having a breathing problem. So EVERYONE runs in that was working, and she sneezes and I scream 'what happened, give me my baby!'

I was a laughingstock, and every time she would sneez for months I wuld get embarrassed and my father or best friend would tell the story to whoever was around.

Ha, that's funner than a boobie full of milk!

HI "gezunteit" (I think its spelled differently) means "Health" in german. We say "bless you" hear in Ireland, but it usually ends up sounding like "bleshoo" and if you sneeze in a room full of people only one or two people would say it....however, funny story 'bout sneezing and germany. One time I was at our HQ in franfurt and was sitting in a cramped office with about 6 other people in it. I sneezed and all 6 looked up from their desks at the same time and everyone of them said "gezunteit" at the top of their voices...this freaked me out a bit and I got a bit of a fright...the result being a fit of about three or four sneezes...at the end of each one all 6 germans would say "gezunteit" so anyone walking by would have thought it was a little chant like this "atchoo-gezunteit-atchoo-gezunteit-atchoo-gezunteit" At the same time I was trying to stifle the giggles (as the germans really didn't see how this was funny) that made me need to pee so I had to run out the door and find the nearest ladies room!!

It does become a nuisance and a problem, kc, then it gets better. Only to have your back ache and your bladder feel like it is really full all over again in the last trimester. Bett to have a winter baby, than a hot summer end of pregancny!

Thanks for sharing the Revelation! In America, we say either Bless you or Gusz.... even if you are not German, so we all assume it means the same. But we do have a bettter sense of humour than most Germans, I do believe.

revelation, that is hysterical!!!

Kc, I swore by keggils--I wanted to come out of it still hanging onto the pc muscles of a teenager. My best friend, however, not so lucky...she talks about it all the time so I'm sure she won't mind...she had horrible allergies to the materials her 3 favorite maternaty blouses where made of (angora, I think), and would sneeze franticly all the time--she ended up getting something like 11 pairs of pants because she loved the shirts too much to stop wearing them!

Oh that's funny!!!

I always sneeze 3 times, always. Also, some people think my sneezes sound fake because I actually say ACHEW.

My oldest daughter however sneezes and there is the highest pitched squeek I've ever heard. I'm surprised it doesn't chatter glass.

jw, how does a cat sneeze exactly? At least you don't sneeze like an orangutang or anything, you know those people who REALLY letter rip? I had a boyfriend who would sneeze like 12 times every time he ate poultry, and there was nothing feline about it.

Apparently I stop what I'm doing, scrunch up my whole body and make a noise like 'chi'.

It IS cute!

What about the dredded 'sneeze with no hankie'? I always wear black (I think it makes me look more mature, I have a young face), and during the fall my alergies get terrible. It happens that the best of us forget or lose our kleenex, I know, but so dos everyone else who sees my sleeves with what looks like dried egg-whites!

Sneezing releases stress. Not laughing...but everybody sneezes differently. It would be funny to put a bunch of people in a room and have them sneeze...
so easy to please these days i am.

A pandora's box? hmmmm..mmm. ok go with it!!

Sneezing releases a natural antihistamine in our bodies. I have heard that unconciously it is a way for some to cry if they cannot openly cry, but hwo knows if that is true or not.
