I don't have any of them, but I was going to wait until I got to the bookstore to see which one appealed to me most. I can let you know what I find, if you'd like. From just reading about the books on line, I'm liking the bible so far.

As far as the stones, personally I think I would buy stones separately, after first holding them. That may sound kooky, but I think an attraction to a particular stone is an important factor in selecting one. I don't even know where I would go to find the stones, actually? A bead shop perhaps? Oh boy, more googling.

PyroShaneyac-kool:)

I'm kind of thinking that too. Buying them separate after holding them...I guess I'm kind a kooky too:)

Actually when I think about it...that's exactly what I did when I bought the Amethyst stones. I looked at and touched several before deciding on the ones I bought. Hadn't thought of that before right now!

I can't wait to hear how your jewelry making goes!!!

I'll go to the bookstore today at lunch and let you know what I find later. I was going to go tomorrow, but I'm thinking that I might venture in there today. Fridays, the book store has story time during lunch, for a bunch of shreiking little maniacs - and I usually steer clear of that. But maybe I can tape a calming, anti-migrane stone to my forehead before I go in. I'll let you know what I find.

I'm sitting here laughing my head off at that comment: "But maybe I can tape a calming, anti-migrane stone to my forehead before I go in."

If you find one of those PLEASE SHARE!!

I'm thinking the chakra bible instead of the other one. It's about $14, has 400 pages of info, but is compact in size. The other is a $30 boxed set that really didn't seem that substantial to me when it came to what you actually got. So, that's my opinion :o).

I also found a gem book that was way way over my head. It had a LOT of info and some great pictures, but a little over the top for me. I'm still looking.

Hey Longshot,

This link has some pretty good info. I agree with touching the stones, but you can get little packages with the stones.

http://www.anisoptera.com/ston.....chakra.htm

Topaz and Amber can be kind of pricey, you can use citrine instead.

Shaney- I hope you haven't blown yourself up!! Torched yourself?

http://spiritnetwork.com/insig.....chart.html

Agate is ok worn anywhere

Fire Agate at forehead (I dunno !!!)

Amber - wrist

Aquamarine - throat

Carnelian - throat

Lapis Lazuli - forehead, throat

Malachite - left hand

Rose Quartz - over the heart

I found that most of these coordinate with chakra placement.

Shaney-thanks for the insight. I'm thinking the same book too.

Did anything go "boom" this weekend? What all did you torch?

Bevdee-I was wondering about a set of them...to at least get started right now, and those little packages you mentioned sound good. Then as I find stones I can get them.

And I'm going to print what you wrote on the placment, cause I was wondering about that. (Is Fire Agate for the same Chakra as Carnelian?-I've got much to learn...)

Alright, get this. I just signed up for a metalsmithing class. I'm really excited, since my torching (although fun) didn't really produce anything. I'm still learning, and was told by my online metal-friends that it's normal to ruin a bunch of metal when you first start out. So I found a class and can't wait.

The lady that wrote that chakra bible, also did a crystal bible, and it's not that expensive :o)

Longshot,

I think you can use whatever colors go with the chakra colors.

http://www.healingcrystals.com.....XL__0.html

"11pc. Tumbled Stone Chakra Set – Stone Sizes (1”-1-1/2”) - These Chakra crystals are made of Extra-Large sized tumbled stones, and come with a 3"x4" organza pouch. This set of Tumbled Crystals and Minerals has been specifically chosen for working with the 7 Chakras. These Chakra Sets are great sets for your medicine bag, energy sessions and they also make great gifts!

Includes Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Blue Lace Agate, Sodalite, Green Aventurine, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Carnelian, Smokey Quartz, Petrified Wood & Hematite

11pc. Tumbled Stone Chakra Set Contents and Metaphysical Uses:

Crown Chakra:

1pc. Clear Quartz - Stone of Power; Raises Consciousness towards Enlightenment and Purifies on All Levels.

1pc. Amethyst - Opens Intuition; Enhances Psychic Gifts and Higher State of Consciousness .

Throat Chakra:

1pc. Blue Lace Agate - Enhances Verbal Communication and Expression.
1pc. Sodalite - Stone of Truth; Good for Group Communication and Verbalization of Feelings.

Heart Chakra:

1pc. Rose Quartz - Unconditional Love for Self and others.
1pc. Green Aventurine - Comforts, Harmonizes, and Protects the Heart. Can help to Attract Love later in life.

1pc. Smokey Quartz - Grounds Negative Energy, Moves Energy to the Lower Chakras and Assists wtih Pain Relief."

I think it works fine to have the color or the stone coordinate with the chakra color. You could start with a basic set and if you find a stone you have particular resonance with, you could substitute it with the one in your starter kit.

Here a couple of others - you could spend the day googling Chakra!!!

Longshot,

You were asking about yellow stones, and I tried to remember a quote about the woman who wears yellow. I can't remember it - it was something like the woman who wears yellow wears her beauty confidently - but I can't find it. In trying, I found this.

Color Therapy and Your Wardrobe

"Wearing Your Emotions

1. Wearing Blue - Serenity and Calm
Wearing blue helps create a place of calm and serenity.

Wearing ocean hues of blue is especially calming. Indigo or darker blues can offer more of a comfort zone feeling, almost as if you are sinking into a pool of warm water. Blues in general remind me of a favorite pair of well-worn denim jeans - now that's simply relaxing.

2. Wearing Gray or Black - Invisibility and Blending In
Wearing grays and blacks can be depressive.

Let's face it, black and gray are fashion basics. We all have the basic black suit or black dress slacks that are a must wear for a number of different social settings. Aside from the slinky spaghetti strapped number you have hanging in the back of the closet, you likely choose to wear black because you prefer to blend in and not make any statement. Wearing black will allow you to keep a low-profile in social settings if that is your intention. Don't wear black if you want to stand out amidst a crowd. Most folks don't even bother to wear black at funerals anymore, it's just too sad to wear dreary and dark colors.

3. Wearing Green - Nurturing and Earthy

Green is considered to be one of the most healing among all the colors.

Because green is the color of trees and grasses it is a wonderful color choice to wear anytime you are wanting to feel more in-tune with nature. Green represents the Spring season and new growth. Choose this color to wear whenever you are embarking on something new or wish to turn over a new leaf.

4. Wearing Orange - Energetic and Creative

Orange urges you to get out into the world and create something grand!

Orange is a very high energy color. Its creativity juices are extremely intoxicating and sweet tasting. Wearing orange is fun and can make you feel quite playful. Artists love dabbling with orange hues. Orange screams with sexual energy too, not surprising since orange is associated with the sacral chakra. Because of its highly-charged intensity some people cannot comfortably wear this color. Adorning yourself with an orange accent piece can add a hint of playfulness. Beware, if you need to complete a mundane project avoid wearing orange as it might interfere with the stick-to-it-ness required to stay on task.

5. Wearing Pink - Open Heart

Wearing pink conveys compassion and an open heart.

Most people associate pink with babies, little girls, and feminine energies. But more than feeling feminine, wearing pink conveys compassion and an open heart. When people are wearing pink, whether they are male or female, they appear approachable and capable of loving others. If you want to feel heart-connected reach for that pastel pink sweater from your closet to wear. And if pastel colors don't suit you try on something in bright fuchsia. You'll feel pretty in pink.

6. Wearing Purple - Unique and Special

Wearing purple shows others that you want to be noticed.

Purple is seldom worn as a neutral color. Purple is the wrong color choice to make if you are wanting to blend in among others as you go about your business. The color purple, especially shades of violet, will definitely make a statement. Wearing purple shows others that you want to be noticed. If it is your desire to feel special and unique then purple is the right color choice. If you would like to send a message out into the world that you're one of a kind and that you could care less about conformity, then wear purple.

7. Wearing Red - Powerful and Confident

Red can really pack a punch when needed.

Red is a very powerful color. Wear red whenever you feel a need to portray confidence or would like to boost your self esteem. However, be aware that wearing too much red can make a person come off a little too intimidating to others who may lack self confidence in themselves. Visualizing the color red can help ground your energies so anyone who has "flighty" tendencies will benefit from wearing red to serve as a reminder to ground themselves throughout the day.

8. Wearing White - Fresh Outlook - New Beginnings

Wearing white will help reduce any nagging feelings of disappointment or drudge.

White represents cleansing and new beginnings. Putting on a white blouse feels like being given an opportunity to start the day with a clean slate. Wearing a white garment, as long as it hasn't taken on any discoloration from too much laundering, can offer a fresh and bright outlook. Be sure to get rid of any dingy white clothes often, replacing them with brighter whites.

9. Wearing Yellow - Cheerful and Happy

Yellow is the perfect color to wear whenever your spirits needs an uplift.

Yellow carries the same healing qualities associated with the sun. It offers warmth, optimism, and light. All shades of yellows and golds will cheer you up and help make you feel happier. Wearing yellow out into the world makes an affirmation statement. For certain, yellow is a perky color!"

Yellow jade is a pretty stone, creamy yellow and very affordable.

I wear lots of denim, jeans almost every day, and denim jackets. Pink-lots of pink, blue, white, and black.

I just started wearing brown occasionally...always thought it wouldn't be a good color for me...that is until I tried it on!

Funny, I rarely wear red, green, or purple, don't own anything orange or yellow. I think I'll go shop and try on some of these colors...:)

Shaney....how's the jewelry making??

Luvin life :o) - you were paying attention! How are you?

I've been entertaining, gals :o). Our house guest stayed a couple of days longer than anticipated so my normal routine has been on hold for a while. I thought things went well, but my h was on edge the whole time. He kept saying, "I just want our nice, quiet life back." Now he's at work until Friday... ugh. We did have fun though - especially Saturday when we went out with a bunch of old friends. I drank way too much and stayed out way too late, and I'm still feeling OFF. I think that recovery time has a lot to do with age now that I'm in my forties. I used to be wild, now I just want to watch tv and go to bed early!

This color therapy is really neat bev. I wear sweats to work mostly (I know, lucky me) ... grey, black, white, blue. Other than that, I'm a big fan of jeans and high heels. I don't like purple AT ALL (I'm brunette with olive skin and it's not for me), but have some coral, red and orange tops, which I love. No green.

Hgal! ... You're in LA? So, I'm guessing that things are going pretty well then? You KNOW that I'll need details when you get settled again. If you're back again in December, go to the ACDC concert - I'll be the one in the black ACDC t-shirt. lol. I hope you're having a great time :o).

Longshot - it sounds like we wear pretty much the same colors. It's still hot here so I'll be in tank tops for a few more weeks. BTW - I'm keeping you in my prayers. I hope you're doing okay.

Friendma - hugs right back atcha (((friendma)))

you said "I think that recovery time has a lot to do with age now that I'm in my forties. I used to be wild, now I just want to watch tv and go to bed early!" i agree 100%....it isn't 1999 anymore. sucks.

so what does it say about a person who always wears BLACK?! lol

I always wear black! when i'm not working.

Black, blues, greys, some purple, earthy browns and buttery yellows when it's warm and orange to highlight. Lots of green. Love lime to sage and forest greens. Sometimes white and ivory.
That is when the weather's warm.

I wear shades of green when I work. That's my "uniform".

My staple is black tho. Black pants, jeans, shoes, socks, shirts, coats. My truck is Black.

Here's the reason's why. I live in a seasonal climate so when it gets cold black absorbs heat. I have circulation problems. Plus I like the elegence, and mystery it conveys. It's classic.

My whole family wears mostly Black ( my partner and son, my dog is black)

I don't suck blood, avoid the sun or wear white pancake makeup.

heeheeheeeeeeeeeeee! (witches cackle)

Yea.Used to party it up, now I'm mostly a homebody, or a dinner party, hike outdoors type.

It's ok! bin there OVER-done that!

Can't give up the occasional Rock concert tho.
I'm the one wearing all BLACK!no adverts ( with long blonde hair) Find me in the shadows!HA!;0)
