wishing you well, Ma. Although I call myself a 'post-Christian agnostic', I have heard many stories of faith rewarded. I hope yours will be one too.

Thanks, Kroika...

I, too, was a "post-Christian agnostic" for nearly twenty-five years. And I thank you for your good wishes that my faith will be rewarded.

Destiny -

I am, indeed, thankful for my monthly disability (although this month's check may wind up in limbo, as the bank where I have it direct-deposited just went under today!!). Eventually, it should all get sorted out.

Florida does allow "short sales;" however, they are not selling. B

stewpit computer...

About "short sales." Florida has been flooded with so many short sales that there is a HUGE inventory. They simply aren't moving. (There is one around the corner from me that has sat empty for 15 months! The bank can't sell it.) There have been 70K foreclosures in my county since March. This is record-breaking.

Most people who are foreclosing find that they can remain in their homes for up to twelve months before being evicted because the agencies handling the evictions are so backed up. So, it is possible that my sons and I can ride out at least six months here, before having to seek shelter elsewhere. I sure hope so.

Thanks for your constructive advice. It's deeply appreciated, as is the caring behind it, Destiny.

Ma Strong,

Here's sending you some positive vibes......

Also, might I suggest that you contact your local ACORN chapter.

ACORN stands for: "Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Here's the national link that you can copy/paste:

http://www.acorn.org/

I feel almost certain that they might be able to help you in your time of need.

At the very least - direct you towards another helpful avenue.

Please DO check them out!

This organization has been extremely instrumental in helping out folks in your particular circumstance.

ma-The social security check in limbo? That is scary. I get mine direct deposit to.

I tired to look into rentals and the agency said that if I quit paying on my house and my credit looks bad no one will rent to me. I am trying how to figure out how to keep my home. I have negotiated a deal with the bank but have to start paying on it Nov. first, more than I can afford. I am drying my clothes on a line. unscrewed light bulbs, cook on a BBQ. Get free food from the church. My kids are not happy about all of this.

Do you think it is better just to get the social security check mailed and then cash it.

I heard about FL market. The bank is selling bank owned homes for like fourty thousand dollars. It is really bringing the comps down. The whole thing is making me sick.

I heard something on the radio about passing bills to help the home owners.

I used to own a home in Loxahatchee, sold it 6 years ago. I have a nursing license there. I loved FL.

Ma, Destiny,

It sounds like the government may be stepping in to help those in mortgage trouble. Hopefully this is a sign that your prayers will be answered!

Ma: do you have any gold jewelry you could sell? The price of gold is sky high right now.

Katzndog- I have no idea what if any help I can get. The bank is not lowering my payment.

ma- I just took pics of my home inside and out and I am sending them to an investor who might be interested in taking over the payments so my credit will stay good. If not I am just signing the deed back over to the bank so I wont get a foreclosure on my record.

I did find a cheap place in a better area 3 hours a way. It is not glamerouse but my pony is there and I will have a better quality of life. I have to explain the situation to the kids. If I told you how much my standard of living is going to decrease no one would believe me. It is arguably laughable.

Have you spoken to anyone in the loss and litigation department yet about a new loan program?

I am shocked to see all the foresale signs in my area. This place will look like a boarded up ghost town before long.

Destiny -

There are 70,000 foreclosures in my county alone, since March. SEVENTY THOUSAND. That's an astonishing percentage of the population for a presumably upper-middle class population. But there ya have it.

Yes...I did contact the Loan Department holding my mortgage and attempted to renegotiate the monthly amount/terms. NO DICE. They wouldn't budge an inch.

Still waiting for a call back from the inquiry I left with ACORN last week. Hope I hear something.

Still praying...for all of us.

Ma- My experience was the bank will not negotiate until you show them you wont pay. Then after 3 months they will be more willing to talk to you and will probably solicit you to fill out forms for different options. Dont ignore any correspondence.

Mine just forgave my failure to make 7 payments and said I can continue but even on that note I dont want it.

Doesnt look like i will be able to sell it. Will have to give the deed over to the bank.

I had to decide to what to and not to pay. Really screws your credit up then when you try to rent people turn you down for having a bad credit report. Or you have to pay a huge deposit for being a big risk.

I am enjoying my new life. Totally. Its gone from responsible and conservative to wild.

Please let me know how you are handling it.

Love,

Destinystar

Mary- I feel sorry for your daughter who has to look on while you solicit men on internet dating sites. Doesnt sound safe to me. who will protect her when you let some man you met in cyber space into your life?

I hope for your daughters sake that you could spend more time worrying about her instead of me. Wonder how your child felt when you werent able to take care of her any more due to mental problems that were so seriouse that you wound up in a hospital. You dont exactly present yourself as mother of the year.

I also hope for the kids sake that you teach that you are not on the internet during school hours.

Destiny,

1. I don't solicit men on the Internet. Never have. Never will. You're wrong.

2. I sought treatment for an eating disorder long before my daughter was born. It took courage. It was much more than a couple of sessions with someone, and the program was voluntary.

What you don't understand, Destiny, and EVERYONE ELSE on this board does, is that seeking treatment is the healthy thing to do.

You are too much of a coward and too proud to seek treatment for your mental illnesses, thereby destroying the people, your children included, you are in contact with.

Your husband needs to be saved from YOU. As do your kids.

3. I don't teach "kids". Even if I did, since I don't solicit men on the Internet, it's not a problem.

In fact, I'm well respected in my job.

Unlike you, I can hold down a job because I get along well with people.

And most importantly, make no mistake, I'm not worried about YOU at all. I feel sorry for your children.

Why don't you start a thread for yourself and see how much support you get from people who haven't already seen you in action on this forum?

You're a well known N on this board who is verbally abusive to others. In terms you can understand, you're one crazy bitch.

Sorry, Ma, but I should have stood up for myself a long time ago. Why should she get a pass?

I hope that you are doing better and that your situation has improved in some way.

I don't know if the government will bail out big business or help families. Our country is sure in trouble.

You gave me good advice, as you always do, about my N mom. I haven't had contact with her or my dad, who beat the crap out of us and enabled my mom, in some time now. But a lot of anger is coming up again about how destructive they were and continue to be.

Today is the second day I've given back as Destiny has given me. I was still harboring anger from the last time she unleashed on me on the "Is age a deterrent to love" thread. I didn't respond to her directly, but I didn't let it go either.

I'm having a hard time.

Sincerely,

Mary

MaryP,

If you want to talk, I can talk to you any time. For the last few months I have been having a hard time about my mom, too.

Anyway- it's been a long time coming, and it's good to see the cowgirl in you coming out. (I don't care that you aren't a native Texan- I know you got here as soon as you could!!) Anywhere, any time. I doubt Miss Strong minds if it is on this thread, and - not that it's mine, but if you want to talk about "N" issues that well up in you, there's always the Narcissists thread. Or the Shaney thread, or or or.

Just talk, don't worry about what's lurking. There are those that would be jelaous and try to destroy your journey in healing.
