This is a spin-off of something I started on the support side.about fear of change.

All of us are no doubt all too familiar with "unhappy surprises" in our life - no?

So - I'm thinking...what have been some of our "happy - no strings attached - surprises" in life?

I just KNOW there has to be some!

What comes to my mind right now is the thing in which I planted some bulbs YEARS AGO along the pathway to my house.

Beautiful little purple folowers which bloom ONLY after a heavy rain.

I forget all about them until I see them.

Year after year, they pop their little heads up - much to my pleasant surprise.

Surely I can elaborate on that into other areas of my life....

It just escapes me right now.

(But - I guess its a good start - you think?)

Happy surprises.

SURELY there must be more!!!!!!

Can anyone add to this?

Maybe we can help to jar our brains into remembering such things......

I had a little surprise just now. I was real hungry and I was thinking what I should eat when there you go! Discovered a turkey sandwich I had bought in the afternoon, yay....! That was my surprise for today. Hmm.

guest_guest,

yeah - that happened to me to recently.

Thought there was nothing in the fridge to eat - and lo and behold - I come across some great leftovers I had completely forgotten about 🙂

Happy surprises, well let's see....
I'd have to say the most recent is finding the place I am now living in. I was getting very discouraged about having to move and finding a place that was affordable for me and my daughter, being as I don't get child support (yet), I was having a very hard time finding something. WELL, I saw this place on craigslist and called it. The ad had just posted that day. I saw it the very next day. The landlord said he'd love to give it to me right then and there but that he had 16 other people that had called on it also and he had to show it the rest of the day.

Well, I prayed and prayed on it.
The next day I called him as he had asked me to do, he said it's yours.
I wanted to jump and scream I was soooooooooooooo happy and soooooooo relieved! BLESSED is a good word also! It fit my budget, it's not in town (5 miles outside of it which is where I prefer to be), and it's huge for just me and my daughter. I no longer need my storage either which is $140 in my pocket!

WOO HOO for happy surprises!

Then the other morning I woke up to kisses from my little girl, that is the BEST! :o)

Last week I had three very difficult phone conversations with a customer at work. She was dissatisfied with everything I did to solve her problem and only heaped more complaints on me. Finally, friday she called again. Our secretary put her through, and when I heard the name I had to take a deep breath and brace myself for more berating. Noooo. She was full of thank-yous and apologized for being a pain in the ass. 🙂
