Hi Friends,

Pets are a blessing from the Creator. I have a beautiful kitty. She is so sweet. She keeps me company, we pray, meditate, laugh and listen to music together.

Whatever your favorite pet, they are a real benediction, joy, comfort, company, relief to us. Dogs, cats, ferrets, bunnies.

Even squirrels, I wish I could domesticate one. I find it a very cute animal creature. Whenever I see one outside, I can't but admire it, savor it, bask in its beauty, and praise the Creator for His grandeur!

I also love dogs, especially golden retriever. When I see this dog, I can't but think of love, warmth, romance, fireplce, even God's presence. Its color is fabulous, its face is meek and sweet, its fur is warm.

I also love cats, they break your heart with their cuteness. They demand less care than dogs, and quite independent and autonomous, though I find them quite warm.

My kitty, I found here astray beside a church nearby my place. I fell in love with her at 1st sight and adopted her. I used to have phobia from cats. God brought me this lovely kitty. So I was healed from this catphobia, as well as found a marvelous companion!

I wish I could visit a farm house, to see what is it like to have a big number of animals. Horses, sheep, goats, hens, chicks, turkeys and perhaps a pond where I can go fishing.

I hope all these dreams come true someday!

I have a lab/heeler mix. He looks like a golden Lab. I trained him myself useing the Monks of New Skete method. It's based on the alpha method where you incorporate the dog into a member of the family and you take the role of the mom dog. I caught so much flak when I disipline him by growling. But, my dad says it's sickening how well he minds me. He follows me all day and sits or lays in the same room I'm in. I know he's awakened me several times when I quit breathing in my sleep. This I know coz the cat, black-gray-white tabby, was on me to and she does not like to be held. I want to handicap train my dog also for later when my health gets worse. Anybody know where I can get the info to get started? Anyway, he's my baby and he's spoiled and worse than a child.
That's my pets. (Hubby limits me to one dog and one cat.)

i have been blessed with the company of cats since I was about nine. We got "smokey from the dental hygenist my mom saw. he was a regal, mellow, kind, almost buddhist kind of cat. he would sigh at the starays i brought home, but was very loving and patient with them, he would start pacing when he though ti was time for bed,an loved ot take a good brisk sit in a sunbeam.
He lived ot be 22 years old. I got Juan at the Humaine society, about 10 years ago. He picked me, actually, I kept going back and forth, from his "cge" t oone with this prissy little beauty of a girl kittie, who just didnt dig me all that much, so I went back to his cage one last time, and he put his paw on my shoulder, and looked right in my eyes, i opened the door, and he hopped on my shoulder, nuzzled in my hair, and sneezed as he just planted himslef there, I was in love, took him home ,and my mom was horrified at the sight of what she called a 4 legged bat..( I thought he was the most beautiful thing ever, he ended up being really sick with an upper respiratory infection, he was sneezing these buggery sneezes all over, I brought him to the vet, got him all better, andwe've been truly connected ever since, he completely responds to my voice, Gives attention and eye contact when I speak, Sleeps in my hair,Under my neck, adn is a lap cat.
After Smokey Died I had moved to a home where He couldnt go outside, adnMy mom was lonely and Missed Smokey terribly and she Kinda 'stole" Juan, But I visit him 3x a week,at least, and he Knows the sound of my car, meows when he hears my voice on th eanswering Machine, Crawls in my purse whn I visit, and I would wake Up here Heartsick, Missingthis animal, andwould literaaly cry When I looked at a picture of Him 🙁
My husband got me a Kittie "todd" for Valentines day this feb. He is a little retarded, but super Super sweet, adorable, And FUNNY, He adores My Husband and His son and will wait for them to get outta the bathroom, he almost jumped in the tub twice when Jake was in there, He is VERY talkative, adn Loves to be spoken to as well.I hope to Have a house whre Juan can be reunited with me, and meet todd, But My mom will be devastated, I know. 🙁
I have a real love of Most dogs that I have met, Most of My friends call me aunt jenn to their pets, becasue They think Im so good with animals. My friend Mike, Had this rottweiler that was the most stunningly adorable, silly, but eerily Smart dog, and he would almost knock me down, becasue I staarted giving him Puppy massages, and whenever I came over he's get all excited, bsck me int othe couch until i ws sitting and back his Butt Up to my knees, Looking back at me smiling wiggling his Nubbin of a tail until i massaged him again, and again, and again. he was sooo gentle aside from Not being aware of his size, and weight, Im sure he tihnks hes a lap dog.
Ive met some pretty awesome COws, too, they have such personalities, and are alot like mammoth cats in demeanor, and personality, they are truly beautiful creatures.met a couple cool ducks too, but the swans Ive met liked ot chase me around and Nip at my shoes.
One of the Most stunning animals I met was a Black leopard, it looked like a petite Panter, but in Just the right light you could see even darker leopard spot pattern in its jet black silk like fur... and those peircing eyes, I was truly in awe.
I also have a big affection for Giraffes, I wish I could have a pet giraffe.... I remember when looking for an aprtment about 8 years ago, the owner asked if I had any pets, that he didnt allow dogs, So I smirked and said "so ,I guess My pet giraffe is out of the question?"
he honestly looked at me like he wasnt sure If i meant that or not,and I kept a straight face, and said "bummer."
needless ot say I dinot end up living there, and thats okay, i was 25, didnt really like the place, and "whatever." my mom really wants a Llama.... but that litter box would be too much for her, I think.
One Hallowen I was a "bad Kittie" had leopard print tights, a leopard print sweater, Platinum Black boots, anda black Vinyl skirt on with a hand made tail and ears on a headband,I hand painted leopard print make up on my face and arms, too, that took a lot of time, but was well worth it, used a gold-tone bronzer for the base coat, dark brown and black for the spots, andtons of Black mascara, and liguid eyeliner, My face feltheavy. Used Nylon paint bristles for whiskers that i carefully glued on. I asked everyone at this bar where the litter box was, I hissed at chouvanistic boys who made nasty comments, and I drank white russians and asked for them as "a saucer of milk on the rox" asked strangers if they knew where to score some good cat nip,
I purred, and rubbed up to the people i knew well enough too, and even pretended to wash an ear, or scratch under my collar, needless to say, I won the costime contest at work that year, andhad a BLAST.I even had a cat toy that i played with... Yup, I am an oddball , huh??? well Halloween IS my Alltime FAVORITE holiday!!!
I probably should have been a veterinarian, My mom said I wanted too, until I found out how long they have ot go to school for,and get paid less than other doctors...I think i was around4 when this happenend.
Anyway, those are my animal tales...
(some of them.)

My kitty is FFFFFFFabulous White Maine Coon kitty with golden eyes. She has medium-length white fur. She is the most beautiful, graceful, and adorable kitty I have ever seen. She wakes me up in the morning at 6:am, by scraching my hair. So she is so naughty! I spoil her, cause I can't resist her sweetness. I buy her good quality to the best quality canine food I can afford. Whenever I cook something spicy; or open tuna can, she starts hoversing and stroking my legs. I always wind-up giving her some tuna chunks. Very Co-dep trait!!! ROFLLLLLLLLL

Hey Rasputin,

you wrote

I read a book by Conrad Lorenz (got a Nobel price for his work about animal behaviour) once. He was a person who tried to raise all kinds of animals that were brought to him wounded, or abandoned as puppies. His story about the squirrel he raised by feeding it milk every hour and afterwards tried to keep as a pet is hilarious. It seems that this squirrel was very wild and very determined to have a lot of exercise and things to nibble at. It destroyed nearly everything in his room, and put a severe strain on his marriage, too, before he gave up and set the squirrel free.

Some animals are best left in their natural surroundings.

But I'm also a great pet lover 🙂

I may have mentioned this before. I can't remember if it was here or somewhere else.

I am not a cat lover. I don't mind cats. It's just for some reason, I am loved by cats.

When I lived in Monterey, CA, I shared an apartment with two classmates. The room I had was actually the front parlor, which had many paned front door (The side door was the one everyone used) One of the lower panes was broken out and for some reason, it was never fixed, just left open. So I would go to sleep and the next morning, I would wake up with several strange cats sleeping with me. As soon as I woke and began to move, they would scamper out the hole in the front door. Wouldn't even let me pet them or anything.

Just kinda strange.

Almost all cats like me, for some reason. Don't know why. Just is.

Eve,

Yes, I think some tame animals are best kept in nature. My kitty looks like a bunny more than a wild cat. There are so many beautiful animals we cannot domesticate. Take for instance deers, gazelles, Kangaroos, they are very graceful animals, yet unfortuantely we cannot have them pets.

I once saw a man in my area who had balck pig as pet. It really looked weird. I have never seen a pet like that. Has any one seen a bizarre pet?

We have some squirrels here that are real nice.

I ran over one a year ago or so. =( I have never felt so bad in my entire life.

Now my brother and I have a song: "La-Squirrelasagana!" (To the tune of LaBamba.)

Okay so maybe that's not what you were after when you started this thread? LOL Sorry.

Amanda

Today my kitty made me angry. She was scratching my top accidently. I really had hard time disentangle her claw which got attached to my top. I know she did not mean it. Thank God no harm was done to my top. Thereafter, I was patting her on her back; just to reassure her that the problem was solved. She is so sweet, sensitive, and obliging kitty. And at the end, I was showering her with kisses, and played some music to her which appeased her and put her in a good mood!!!

Today my sweetie kitty and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day. We were both dressed in green. We danced jig together, listend to Irish songs. Among them "Danny Boy". We both drank Irish beer.
