Is there someone out there who knows how to work on the karmic problems with past lives?

Marley.

As I understand it, the law of Karma is nothing more than the law of 'cause' and 'effect'. However, the law of Karma also implies the necessity for the 'conditions' to be 'right' for the 'effects' to manifest. Conditions are always 'right' sooner if not later for effects to manifest.

If, generally speaking, we know what are the cause of 'undesirable' effects, why does one need to find a specific cause that may lie lost in antiquity.

What is considered 'undesirable' is that which threatens the wellbeing of oneself and/or that of another. Morality is supposed to be based upon this principle of doing unto another that which one would want for done to the self. Thou shalt not kill, steal, lie, slander, commit adultery etc all ensure the wellbeing of all concerned. When we breach these rules, we set ourselves up for the 'effects' when the 'conditions' are 'right'.

Everything that we do lays down a memory trace. Those memory traces are our conditioning that governs how we perceive reality. Just having awareness without any memory of any kind to reference, how would we perceive the world and ourselves? This is an interesting question!

If we behave 'immorally' then we are conditioning ourselves to perceive an 'immoral' world in which fear is our constant companion. This fear in return provokes undesired responses in others .

Because we are unaware of these fear driven interactions with others, we provoke fear driven responses from them. Then we simplistically blame others for their undesirable and seemingly unprovoked behavior, not realizing that it is a karmic effect of both our and their past intentions. There is no ledger in the sky; karma is 'written' into us in our deep unconscious by our present intentions. It is this deeply unconscious 'memory'(alaya consciousness) that transcends death to manifest the 'effects' in subsequent lives, not the 'person' who dies.

Thus it is our present, instant by instant intentions that we ought to be seeking and monitoring, not those of the distant or not so distant past, whether it be in past lives or this one. The question is: what am I wanting for this person or life form with whom I am interacting? Do I want what I perceive to be in their best interests or just my own? Do I have their welfare in mind? In fact, when I want to screw around without a thought for negative consequences, do I even have my own welfare in mind, let alone anyone elses?

Tez:

Thank you so much. That was a very beautiful explanation to the"Karma!"

I too believe in Karma, I believe we reap what we sow. It comes from the Bible, said in many traditions, teachings, cultures, school.

Rasputin.

Thanks for your thanks.

How and why did you pick the name 'Rasputin' for your 'nickname'?

The historic Rasputin surely did generate some bad karma for himself; karma that found the right conditions and manifested in his lifetime therein causing his death!

Tez,

ROFL, I know. I only found out that he was evil aftet having chosen the name! LOL

I wish I could change my nickname. It sounds awful. The reason I chose it is because I love history.

Also there is the "Boney M" with their beautiful song "Rasputin."
I love that music band.

I LLLLLLove the "Boney M". It is such a shame that they ceased to exist. I honestly think they are great success. There were 2/3 Jamaican girls and one guy. They all had beautiful voices, performed well....

Raaaaaaaaasputin, lover of the Russian queen, they put some poison into his wine, RRAAAAAAAAA.....

Another song by same band:

"NEVER never change your love, in the middle of the nite, everything will look so different in the early morning..." I love this song, it is sooooooooooooo RRRRRRRRRRomantic!!!

Perhaps I should change my name to "Romantic Rasputin."

Life is full of irony!!!!RRRRRRRRRROFL

On well, thank you Cuthul for liking this funny name and for reassuring me that he was not evil, WOW!!! Thank God someone likes my namesake, I am less nervous now!

Cuthul: Willitgetbetter is in similar situation as you with gf. He posted thread which I forgot its title. But perhaps you could post thread with his name and ask him about it on the other "Suppot thread."
