Ma, I participate on a Christian forum. There is a woman there who is always right and never wrong, and even when called on the carpet for some of her banging over the head and quoting of scriptures and intentionally mis-understanding of others will not graciously say "you may be right and I may be wrong". I know the simple answer is just not to engage with her, but over the weekend she "attacked" someone who is admittedly struggling mentally and with his faith. I waded off into the battle even though she was making my blood boil. I have had past experiences with her where she is the total authority on all things southern because she once vistited South Carolina and how we still racially discriminate in the south and we are all just ignorant racist hill billies.

I am not asking from a mental health standpoint how to deal with this woman (just ignore her) I am asking you as a Christian pastor how to admonish her to show more a more Christ like attitude towards others.

Personally, if I were a new Christian and encountered this woman and her rigidity I would run for the hills.

This is why you have anointed leadership. Contact your Pastor immediately. Explain the situation and let him/her handle it. I would not try tackling this woman on your own. It sounds as if she has a Jezebel spirit (attempting to control, criticize, belittle and intimidate others).

Let me know what your pastor advises?

When such situations have occurred in my own ministry, I have dealt with them immediately and directly. The individuals under my leadership reasonably look to me to handle the occasional "wolves" who invade the flock.

P.S. If this is not headed by a pastor/minister,then approach the forum leader to address this issue. You are quite right. Her attitude and spirit are DEFINITELY inappropriate.

Thanks Ma. That is what I did. I contacted the web manager. He is not getting involved at this point. Several of the other women and a couple of men rebuked her. For now, I have decided not to respond to her in any way. If she can't get the attention she is seeking perhaps she will change. Thank you again for the advice and support.

Bitsy -

You are actually right. If they can't get what they desire (usually, power over others), they move on to fresh, potential victims.

The web manager SHOULD have dealt with the issue, however. That responsibility goes with being a leader.

You might want to try locating a different group that is better managed and has a better Spirit.

Ma, I don't know if I am seeing more of the Jezebel Spirit in myself or in her from what I have been able to read on line. She is very legalistic and this is the way it is and the rest of you are wrong. I am more of God finds all of us where we are. Your sins are between you and God and none of my business.

Can you clarify and help me better understand. I have also started a 60 day study on settingcaptivesfree.com I am working on my issues with food equals love. Over the past year I haven't had anyone to love and comfort me, so I have turned to food. I was also raised in a household where food equalled love. I show my love for others by feeding them.

The Spirit of Jezebel (Scripture references: I Kings 16-21):

- Proud
- Self-Constituted Authority
- Claims of superior holiness or higher knowledge, linked with disregard for legitimate authority
- Persecutes, genuinely Godly, holy people, particularly those who are prophetic.
- Seeks to completely dominate and usurp the authority of others.
- Will do this through use of wealth, intimidation, fear, etc.
- Lust for power..
- Determined to destroy the true worship of God.

Hope this brief overview from one of my recent sermons will help.

Thanks. I am such a nerd or "dog with a bone". Once I get something in my head I have to know about it.

PS. Puppy Dog Boy is doing well. We are working on walking on his leash pretty well now that we are in a neighborhood. He virtually Prances. Hey look at me. I am so cute. He truly is one of the joys of my life.
