sd,

LOL. And Seekiepoo will open up a lot of doors for you, and walk on the outside to protect you from mud from passing cars. And he will not take you on long walks on the beach.

Lolli,

It's always a pleasure writing and hearing from you. I'll stick up for you anytime, on any thread, to any poster.

Congratulations on your finals! Man, with those grades, you should have no trouble getting into a 4-year college. And you did so well in Abnormal Psych -- I'm going to have to hire you for my own personal counselor. Somebody will finally be able to understand me! :o)

Have a great summer off. Have you looked more into tutoring, like you were thinking earlier?

Love, Seeker

sd,

No, you haven't told me today. Thank you for saying that. You are my kind of gal, too.

Y&R,

Howdy, howdy! I'm so glad that life is looking up for you. About there being a lot to be said for anticipation, I agree. However, in my book, a year or so of dating and getting to the point where you decide on each other is anticipation enough.

Besides, I'd still have the hour or 2-hour flight to the place of elopement on which to anticipate. Unless I take along a minister and get married right on the plane. That'll save some time after landing.

mamac and guppy,

Thanks for certifying me as an honorary Southerner. Where can I get a certificate to that effect?

Can you give me some more Southern lessons? I'm already getting rusty.

mamac...ya mean Missouri is part of the SOUTH? When did that happen? So I'm officially a southern belle? Or did you grow up south of the Mason Dixon line and move up here where us yankees roam???

seeker...here's a lesson in the form of a riddle:

What's the difference between a southern fairy tale and a northern fairy tale?

A northern fairy tale begins: Once upon a time...

A southern fairy tale begins: Y'all ain't gonna believe this!

ready,

As I recall, Missouri was a slave state pre-Civil War. That would make it a Southern state, no?

I like your riddle. What's the difference in their endings? The Northern fairy tale ends: "and they lived happily ever after (man, what a fairy tale!)."

Does the Southern fairy tale end: "and they lived happily 'till the cows came home", or elsehow (Seekerese for "some other way")?

The certificate should be in the mail. (isn't that what the saying usually is?)

Due to the state of the teachers after this last session, the next set of classes on Southern speaking will begin in the fall. Until then you may send well wishes c/o the local mental facility.

I guess we are southerners...up here in St. Louis, it's hard to picture the old South....

not sure how those fairy tales end...I like your versions though

mamac...can I join the faculty at the mental facility this summer? After this school year, I may need some R & R

Yep, Guppy is absolutely correct!

How about; It's as hot as a frog sitting on a fence?

I think I made that one up last year. Or has anyone heard of that one? I think I made it up.
