Obama reaches out to voters who oppose him

A few
weeks ago I think I said that Obama should meet with republicans
and ask them what they want done. He did something
similiar:

Obama
backs economic effort, asks for voters' help

When was the last
time a president met specifically with voters who hated him? Thats
leadership, to me. Others are going to be critical as usual. People
forget the state America was in when Obama inherited it. What else
can he do, he's trying his best. At the least he doesnt say "no".
And yes I know in California, a certain stimulus of $77 million in
some area of government only saved 8 jobs, yes - eight. But some
blame Arnold for that. In any case we gotta see everything, not
just certain viewpoints.

Really, when was
the last time a president met specifically with voters who opposed
him? Isnt that good? Its a sign of good leadership and courage,
isnt it?

A
sign of good leadership? If his intentions were genuine then I'd
say yes.

IMO I think it's
just grandstanding really. So people will say, oh gee, look at him
facing the music - what a guy - he must be okay after all. He's
trying - yada yada

I'll
bet nothimg substantial changes. Mainly because he dances to the
tune of the lobbyists, powerful corporations, banksters - the Fed
being at the root of it all, of course, with having a monopoly on
the creation & distribution of money (unconstitutional) they
can, have & will continue to manipulate the country at their
discretion. It's been going on long before Obama ever stepped up to
the political plate. His hands are tighted rather tightly, I'd
say.

It would be nice
if I were to be wrong & that he could actually turn things
around for the better but, given the aforementioned, I don't
believe that is going to happen. He simply hasn't the power to
effective positve change even if he had the desire to.

Well
its not like he cant do anything at all or doesn't have any power
at all. He does have some power and he's trying his best. Any
president has to work with whatever exists at the
moment.

Yea he's not
perfect, for example, he could have sold his health plan better.
Thats something I said in the beginning and he's admitting it
now.

What he should
really make a project out of is not the economy or health care or
whatever, its ending this internal civil war and rivalry between
republicans and liberals. Its a disaster. Its like living in a
house where there's constant fighting.

Some
interesting attitudes from polls:

AP-GfK Poll: Dems disliked, but so is GOP

Most say President
Barack Obama isn't cooperating enough on the economy; yet even more
accuse Republicans of the same thing. Former President George W.
Bush and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — the only two Republicans
the AP-GfK Poll tested — are both viewed negatively by more than
half in the survey, worse than Obama's marks. And people
overwhelmingly fault Bush more than Obama for the
recession.

Emile Wery, 66, a
military retiree in Pahoa, Hawaii, rated both parties unfavorably
in the poll. He says Democrats aren't doing enough to create jobs
and Republicans aren't being constructive.

"They're not doing
anything to mitigate the problems we have, because it's in their
best interests to make Democrats look bad," Wery said of the
GOP.

Yea,
it's a vie for money & power. Not sure how he could end the
battle within that two party system. Everyone wants their own slice
of the pie & will do everything in their power to hinder,
discredit the other side to help facilitate their own rise to
power.

I know I've said
it before but, what I believe he should do is abolish the Fed via
executive order. Dissolve the IRS & other forms of taxation
& replace it with a flat VAT(value added tax) for non food
items. We'd see some amazing growth economically then. Of course,
if he ever tried any of that, it would be his demise. The ptb don't
want it that way so, it isn't going to happen if they can help
it.

Well,
say what you will about all of this...the one person that still
stands out in my mind to this day is Barry Goldwater.

"His friends said
he was often misunderstood, but his reputation for personal
integrity was unblemished."

Source:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....ater30.htm

To my mind and
memory - he stood his ground and didn't give a flying flip about
what others had to say.

http://www.liberalslikechrist......water.html

Of course, I do
not agree with alot of what he stood for....but that's the thing I
think - that he STOOD for something and he didn't let polls or
whatever sway his opinion one way or the other.

This is what he
was about and you could either take it or leave it - bottom
line.

How many
politicians have the balls to do that now?

Throwing caution
to the wind and stand upon his own principal whether or not anyone
agreed with him....good, bad or otherwise?

That takes guts.
That takes balls.

Sadly, so many
(most?) politicians of late are down and out cowards across the
board. Afraid to take a strong stance one way or the other..afraid
of ousting some politiical contributor in the
process........

What a farce. What
an absolute, sad farce.

What is that old
song by Pat Benatar.......Everybody Lay Down:

Pat Benatar
Everybody lay Down Lyrics:

Everybody go
round, go round, go round Everybody lay down, lay down, lay down
Don't nobody make a sound Everybody lay down Everybody give up,
give up, give up Nobody hang tough, hang tough, hang tough Life a
little too rough Everybody lay down

Everybody say hey,
Don't nobody say no? Everybody say wait, Don't nobody say go?
(CHORUS) Everybody lay down

Everybody cry
loud, cry loud, cry loud Nobody too proud, too proud, too proud To
tell you what they're all about Everybody lay down

Everybody don't
care, don't care, don't care Nobody play fair, play fair, play fair
Maybe everybody too scared

Everybody lay
down

(CHORUS)

Everybody lookin'
higher Everybody want to touch the fire Nobody willing to lay it
all down

Everybody want
heaven Everybody say Amen One thing is certain, you gotta lay it
all down

(CHORUS)

Everybody go
round, go round, go Everybody lay down, lay down Don't nobody make
a sound Everybody lay down

Everybody give up,
give up, give up Nobody hang tough, hang tough When it's just a
little rough, everybody lay down

(CHORUS)
Twice

From the album
"Gravity's Rainbow" Written by: N. Giraldo & P. Giraldo Lyrics:
Everybody lay Down, Pat Benatar [end]

ummm ummm
ummm.

Damnm skippy, if
ya ask me!

~ Gotta lay it all
down ~

Has
anyone seen Jesse Ventura's conspiracy show. I saw part of it last
night & wondered how the hell it managed to air on main stream
TV? There was even a segment that featured Alex Jones - a huge
whistle blower. This particular episode dealt with the whole global
boondoggle. It's made Gore a multi-billionaire & there are
those who stand to make much more than him as a result of this
scare tactic that is being perpetrated. More instilling fear,
dividing & conquering.

Hmm..I'll have to
look into that. Are the ptb allowing it for now to give the
illusion that the media is fair & unbiased, tolerant of free
speech, then later discredit him? Make an example?

There are some
anti-establishment organizations that have been found to have ties
to some of the elites. The Rockefellers for one. Organizations
funded, monitored & controlled by the the ptb. Being
manipulating to focus on aspects of corruption that won't hinder
the NWO agenda. These are some wicked but smart SOBs that are
running things behind the scenes.

I
said: "..the whole global boondoggle."

I meant: the whole
global warming boondoggle.

"Obamanation" lol bfg

People really
think it's going to make a difference to the status quo? I think
not. More false hope. Obama isn't really running anything &
never was. He is & will continue to do the bidding of the
rulers up until the next sap steps up to plate to continue where he
left off.

I 'hope' that I'm
wrong! (more false hope there? lol)

Any
arrogant Americans surprized by this??

Ruling on Behalf
of Wall Street's "Super Rich": The Financial End Time has
Arrived

By Prof. Michael
Hudson

Now that President
Obama is almost celebrating his bipartisan willingness to renew the
tax cuts for the super-rich enacted under George Bush ten years
ago, it is time for Democrats to ask themselves how strongly they
are willing to oppose an administration that looks like Bush-Cheney
III. Is this what they expected by Mr. Obama’s promise to rise
above partisan politics – by ruling on behalf of Wall Street, now
that it is the major campaign backer of both parties?

It is a reflection
of how one-sided today’s class war has become that Warren Buffet
has quipped that “his” side is winning without a real fight being
waged. No gauntlet has been thrown down over the trial balloon that
the president and his advisor David Axelrod have sent up over the
past two weeks to extend the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2%
for “just” two more years. For all practical purposes the euphemism
“two years” means forever – at least, long enough to let the
super-rich siphon off enough more money to bankroll enough more
Republicans to be elected to make the tax cuts
permanent.

Mr. Obama seems to
be campaigning for his own defeat! Thanks largely to the $13
trillion Wall Street bailout – while keeping the debt overhead in
place for America’s “bottom 98%” – this happy 2% of the population
now receives an estimated three quarters (~75%) of the returns to
wealth (interest, dividends, rent and capital gains). This is
nearly double what it received a generation ago. The rest of the
population is being squeezed, and foreclosures are
rising.

Charles Baudelaire
quipped that the devil wins at the point where he manages to
convince the world that he doesn’t exist. Today’s financial elites
will win the class war at the point where voters believe it doesn’t
exist – and believe that Mr. Obama is trying to help them rather
than shepherd them into debt peonage as the economy settles into
debt deflation.
