Is anyone familar with the MBTI personality tests? I have be given this test a number of times with fairly consistent results.
I recently went to a leadership workshop where we were all given the MBTI and it has really helped me understand some of my coworkers at the other stations.
There is a lot of links with more info if you google MBTI.
Has anyone else taken this test? Did the results seem to fit?
Ive tested as INFJ and once was INFP and another time as ENFJ. This last version of it had charts that showed how strong you prefered each option. I tested weak on the I and J but extremely strong on the N and F, so that better explains the differences in the tests.
Recently I've been trying to match up some of these theories on personality types with my interactions with others and have noticed that if I assume that they have a different preference than me and then try to accomidate that preference then things seem to go a bit smoother. Its far from right all the time, but I'm getting better in many of my professional relationships since I've begun taking this into consideration.

Chelonia,
Hiya! Hope you're well.
Yes, I have taken the test (once) just minutes ago in fact & found the results (ENFP - Dominant Extroverted Intuition type) interesting & the results to be fairly accurate.
I'll have to try it another day tho, to see how consistent it is in accurately pegging me.
I can appreciate how incorporating your knowledge of the different types into you workplace could be advantageous in achieving more harmonious relationships with your co-workers.

I love the myers briggs theory. It really has helped me to understand other people. I am an ENFP like Craig. I would think that most people on these boards would be NF and probably some NT's also. Sometimes I guess what my friends are for fun, and I usually get at least 3 letters right. I also am very strong on the N and F, but more in the middle on E/I and P/J. I have introverted periods in my life where I wind up INFP too.

That would be an interesting study. I tend to relate better to those that are NF than other types.
My ex wouldn't take the test, but I think he was my exact opposite. Definately an Extrovert and sensing and Percieving. He might have been feeling but when I read the descriptions he fit the ESTP better than ESFP. I think his oppositeness broadened my possibilities and acceptance of other ways of thinking, but it sure didn't help our marriage. But I also didn't really evaluate this kind of thing until we were in pieces and had created a very toxic relationship.
