"Please take any nasty comments and post them on a new thread."

Just what are you defining as a 'nasty' comment? This sounds very judgmental to me.
It also sounds like an attack before anything has been said.

Why the need to say this at all? You say you wanted the thread to be warm. Well, this comment sounds very hostile to me and not warm at all.

I find this to be very offensive.

Kathy:

Why the need to say this at all? Because, in my opinion, if you take a look at most threads there is attack after attack. Where has the help part of our site gone? I see folks seems like just waiting for someone to say the wrong thing or word it wrong or even state their own belief just to get jumped and then the thread turns into total chaos. Good example is the thread about Avoiding Bein Hurt. Not the correct name, but you can tell from the para. which it is. That kind of thing is happening all over in libs and in support, in my opinion.

So, all that said.. this is why I posted it. Sorry if it made you feel bad. I just remember in the past someone made the comments that we should post a warning in the title which I did, but I honestly just did not want it to turn into a catfight as I have seen happening more and more.

It was not posted to any specific person or persons. It was posted to everyone.

Thanks for your concern and for asking. I'm glad you did.

Well, considering the three way battle that was going on in the thread next door between the forces of intelligent design, creationsim, and flying spaghetti monsterism, I could see how MamaC might have been a little nervous.

This caught my eye, but I have not read the threads you are referring to. I once had to take a course in human relations which was VERY LOOSELY run. 100 people were left in a lecture pit with NO instructions for discussion for 30-40 minutes each session. At first people embraced the chance and clustered together, but gradually more aggressive speakers sat "forward" and the more passive sat further back from the contention.

The only thing I got out of it was a micro lesson about mob violence with a little "Lord of the Flies" behavior insinuated.
