CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Illinois Board of Education has quietly eliminated the term
``evolution'' from state school standards adopted two years ago, the Chicago Tribune
reported in its Sunday edition, available Saturday.

The Illinois Board of Education approved standards in July 1997 that contained no explicit
reference to evolution, only the phrase ``change over time,'' the paper said.

If you ask me, people take the words in the bible far too literal. Doesn't it say in the bible that animals were created before man? Man was created to rule over all the animals and the earth.

Gen 2:7 "the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

Do people really believe that God picked up a handful of dust and 'poof' there was man? I think this statement just says that God creates through nature. He created me and I know people who can proove that I evolved from my parents. I grew inside my mother's womb, but I'm not exactly like my mother nor my father.

As far as God creating everything in six days and resting on the seventh, does everyone believe that this was seven days as we know a week? Paleontologists have proven that there were dinasour fossils more than a 500 million years old putting the large mammels on the earth far longer than man has been proven to be. And what about the remains found of what is known as the 'neanderthal'. Is that imagined or surpassed as a cross-breed. I say evolution and creation are one and the same. What's all the fuss about teaching our children ALL possibilities and all findings. Perhaps one of THEM will find the facts that can't be disputed. Without any mention at all of revolution are children are denied the opportunity to look into it and develop their own opinions about it.

J.C. Tich, tich such heresy!!! Hehehe.... -> infinity.

Watch out; the righteous will be coming for you to burn you at the stake in order to teach you their 'truth' about the love of God. Or it might be the dunking stool for you; I'm not sure what sophistocated methods that they use these days. 🙂

Did I say 'revolution'? I wonder what I was thinking there? 🙂
