My dad has more experience being an engineer than a certain friend of my brother who has a very strong personality, much stronger than my dads. You dont get it, you cant see it. Hillary Clinton doesnt have a strong unshakeable personality. She's a people pleaser.

Its just something you have to be able to see, sorry that you cant see it.

Let me ask you: name some good examples of strong personalities and compare them to some weak ones and tell me why some stand above the weak ones.

"Hillary Clinton doesnt have a strong unshakeable personality."

Right guest, that's why she almost got the Presidential nomination. That's why she's a successful "big state" senator. Yup, she's a weak thang all right. For crying out loud. Get a grip dude.

"name some good examples of strong personalities and compare them to some weak ones and tell me why some stand above the weak ones. "

Don't even THINK you can give ME homework guest.

The answer to that request is no.

Do it yourself.

"You dont get it, you cant see it."

ummmmmm...we're not talking about the mayor of timbuktu guest. We're talking about a powerful big state United States Senator and past First Lady to the United States Presidency. Hello, weak personalities don't GET to these places. They teach in public schools, like me.

"She's a people pleaser. "

"Duh" cubed on that one guest. All politicians are people pleasers, the better the people pleasing skills, the better the political climb.

give it up on this one guest. You're digging a pit.

People elected Bush too. They elected AhmedTheNutJob too. A lot of people can be ignorant.

So... you couldnt give examples of strong personalities. Well, not even one? Take your time, give me an example.

IMO, the Republicans don't stand a chance!

My feeling is that they chose Palin (last minute - mind you - )as a long shot - afterall - what have they got to lose?

The Reps are grasping at straws here!

She's a token female on the ticket for a party that has nothing else to fall back on, in my humble opinion....what with George W polls being the worst since time can remember.......

Actually, it's quite insulting!

Free, I cant. Anyway ok, I see you're not gonna do it.

Well so yea, one would think that electing Goerge Bush was the biggest blunder and it must have happened by bad luck. Now this guy picks out this Palin lady, and there's no reason at ALL to pick her. Something is grossly wrong with our system. Many years from now when its reformed, people will remember these days and think how stupid the system was.

If someone like Palin even comes close to have any kind of big leadership role (e.g. VP) in the country, then that means the system is just wrong.

Palin stands for self-reliance and isolationism. i.e. oil drilling here on America's land.

"Drill for oil here!" is a big chant/rant/desire in Alaska.

And elsewhere.

last minute?

She was announced before the republican convention.

How is that last minute?

Good God, what are you guys on about.

Look at this:

speech

The woman is highly emotional and is almost crying in the video throughout the time. her voice is breaking. I'm not making fun of crying or being emotional but, when you're running for vice president, I'm SORRY - there's no room for getting emotional or to cry.

Really, I thought you guys had good judgement.

Its amazing that so many people can be wrong about something.

It's ONE THING to captivate an audience.

Quite another to address the REAL ISSUES plaguing the MILLIONS of Americans living in poverty.

(Geesh - did Palin even utter the words "poverty", "middle class" "Pakistan" or "Afghanistan?")

If so, I sure didn't hear it!

Time will certaintly tell.

This go 'round I think that most Americans will see through and beyond the personality and charm if they haven't already.

Too much is at stake nowadays to be temporarily swayed by charm.

A real smoke screen, IMO.

Did anyone else happen to notice the particular ANGLE of the RNC last night?

First up was a black man. Then a hispanic man. Then the female CEO of ebay and followed by the former woman CEO of HP?

Laid it on just a little too thick for me - again - IMO!

When what really still actually throbs and thrives and resonates and indeed lives behind - in the GOP is STILL the good ole white boy network pulling on the racial/gender strings from above because it seems to be the "hot" and "popular" topic of the day!!!!!!!!

SURELY the American people can't be DUPED that easily....or can we?

4 more years of the GOP??????

I don't think so..............

Sorry - I am not convinced.

Grant it - the Dems have their faults as well - but I am here to say that I will cast my vote on the lesser of the two evils.

Eventually - who knows?

The next generation.

Where the Libertarians and Green parties will eventually take precendence and domination?

The thing is - that politics is always changing. (Hopefully - evolving....)

Hillary Clinton years ago - was once a die-hard Goldwater fan and Reagan USED TO BE a dem liberal before he met Nancy.

Again - time will tell.

My only GRAVE concern is that the voting booths (and their manufacturers) are not rigged like they were when GW "supposingly" won in the past!!!!!!!!!

Again - IMO!

yeah I see your point. Especially since NONE of this occurred during the DEMOCRATIC convention. They were all just down to earth, ethical, real people. Nobody there EVER tried to use charm or any other political strategy to pursuade the American people. And I'm certain, so certain, everything promised or thought to be promised during the Democratic convention will be abided by.

Absolutely.

These are all inherently good people!

free,

I could really do without your obvious sarcasm.

Like I said, the "lesser" of two evils.

Please try to remain open here - if you can...........

You are impressed by Palin.

So be it.

That's your right.

I just don't happen to agree with you - and that is my right also!

I never said that it wasn't your right.

You can do without MY sarcasm? Re-read your own post.

I said Palin was impressive. I never said I was impressed by her.

ME be open if I can? Ya gotta be kidding. I don't do the groupie thing- I don't take pride in "my party" so I'm probably one of the most open people here regarding politics tbt. You're the one who slammed on people of the Republican party tbt. Perhaps you could try being open to opinions and speeches of those who belong to that party.

Perhaps you yourself could try being open to people and opinions other than those of the democratic party.

I think that's what "open-ness" is.

Oh free- I am completely open to the people and opinions other than the democratic party entirely - I just don't buy it anymore!!!!!!!(did you not pick up on that from me?)

(Did you not really read my observations about the Libertarians & Green party insomuch as the/our future might be concerned?)

And no - I don't believe myself to be sarcastic in the least.

Personally - I think that it is a cheap shot to be sarcastic.

I try hard not to be sarcastic towards anyone and conversely, expect the same in return.

Perhaps YOU read into something I said that wasn't actually there!

Sometimes I even wonder free - if you are not just looking to pick a fight......just because?

I felt my observations were extremely honest, straight-forward and absent of said sarcasm.

Perhaps another's perspective here might help to clear this up?

A "third party" - if you will............

What exactly did Palin do or say that impressed you?

TBT:

>> I think that most Americans will see through and beyond the personality and charm if they haven't already.

Not true. half of the public will stull not be able to see it. They're judging by emotions.

Free and everyone pro-Palin:

Why do you think McCain could not have chosen a better VP candidate?

The woman cried. The people coming on stage on RNC right now live are all emotionally involved. They know their team is not strong so they're doing the hidden "Look I'm strong, yay! We'll win!"

Real confidence shows.

What does it take to be a VP guest?

I'm concerned about both Palin AND Obama- they just both seem inexperienced.

And here too. Tell me how you defend this Palin lady saying stuff like:

Palin - Alaska pipeline is God's will

See, McCain is bringing in different ethnic races to confuse the masses, TBT. They're saying "Hey we got some hispanic, black and non white men and women too, look! We're more diverse! We have bigger lemons on our lemonstand! yay"

I know you'd say that Free. Obama being inexperienced is not an excuse for McCain to go get someone else inexperienced too.
