Sleepless

This job is going to be a snap- once I get with the schedule. I worked a full week at my old job- Mon-Fri and then these 2 12s, so I'm kinda dragging.

It's good to see you!

Rouxlady -

I hope you didn't oversleep this morning.

I haven't been to sleep yet, but I wanted you to know I thought of you this morning. I was real busy, and didn't even want to look at the site, and get behind on the workload that just kept growing and growing. I am not complaining! I like the job- it's mmore to my taste and I get to do the specialty I like the best.

So- I will talk to you later. Please talk nice to Little Roux, okay? She's tired and worn out, and she needs to be cherished today.

No, didn't oversleep, just didn't get much again. Having nightmares, ugh...

Where are you working in the hospital? Xray? I know little about the medical field. Being busy probably helps the time to fly.

I have a busy day today and that is keeping me awake. I am reviewing Texas History ALL DAY, six times. We have final assessments...Last day is Friday and I will have completed 25 years of teaching!!!

Love ya tump!

I didn't sleep too much- I didn't want to. I went down to the lake for a few minutes, and the water felt pretty cold, still. When I got back to the house, the Casinoman was pulling up. Very odd- he has only been out here once when he helped me move next door about a year and a half ago.

Nothing happened, we only talked but I'm kind of shaken.

I want to stay up till 9 to see The Tudors, but I don't know if I'm going to make it till then. I have an 8 o'clock appointment for fasting blood sugar, so I need to be up by 6. I hope every Monday after my weekend isn't so tiring or eventful. I'm thinking it's because it was at the end of such a long (14 day) stretch.

It may take you a few days to recover from all the work and driving. Hey, what is your specialty that you mentioned with your work?

Even down here, the water cooled a bit after the cool, dry weather that came south.

Did Casinoman know you were off? Or was it just a dropby surprise? How do you feel about the visit?

I am supposed to do a fasting blood sugar test this Thursday, but think I will postpone it a week. I hate getting my blood drawn because ever since last fall, my veins are not cooperating. Now, they just use my hands...ugh...too tender.

4 more days, yet these will be tough.

GG

I like cat scan the best. There is alot of cool stuff you can do to reconstruct the images - like into different planes, and into 3D. I like to play with it.

I don't really know yet how I feel about the C-man's visit. I'm still surprised that he visited- it was totally a dropby- he lives 25 miles from here. Gas is high, and he has to watch his money real close. So- about the time my emotions start levelling off- here he is again, and he's never been predictable.

GG- if you will hydrate yourself real well for a couple of days before the visit, drink lots of juice or water, and cut back dehydrating caffeine- your veins should not be so uncooperative. If the lab or doctor's office is going to be air conditioned, wear a sweater or jacket, so you won't get too cold while you wait. When you get cold, you veins shrink. When you get dehydrated, they shrink, and that is the challenge to venipuncture when the test calls for fasting.

I'll be back in a few, someone is at the door.

Thanks for the advice on the vein situation. I am HORRIBLE about drinking water, drink too many diet cokes. Also, I didn't know that about the coldness effect, because the doctor's office is always cold.

Hey, when you do cat scans, do you have to put stuff in their veins?

4 more days....

GG- yes, I have to put stuff in their veins. I had to learn to start IVs- so that's how I learned all the little tricks for plumping up a vein.

I had to reschedule my appointment, because I overslept.

Tump, I hope you caught up on some sleep. I read about the return of Casinoman, drama on your first night off!!! There may have been a reason that the golf cart arrived at that time; gives you a chance to think now. Not to make light of your thoughts, but I was thinking of something my daughters were talking about last weekend. One that has a boyfriend was asking me to check out the cute waiters at the restaurant we were going to. I said, "Hey, you have a boyfriend!" She said that there was no commitment, no ring, and that she can play if she wants.

Have a good day tump!

ROuxlady -

I am done with the mobile job. They called me this morning to tell me to bring the car to the local office, and give the keys to SB. I did, thinking it was a tad casual- but I made a checklist of all the equipment that was issued to me, and had her check it off and sign it. If anything went missing from that car, I would be held liable- and they might take it out of my last check, or sue me. Ya never know. 🙁

YOu are not gonna believe what I'm fixin to tell ya. She brought me home, and when we got here, she got tears in her eyes, and said,"I'll miss you - please keep in touch!"

I think she's crazy- if she hadn't said to keep in touch, I would have thought she was crying because she is having to do 2 people's work!

Ah Roux, sometimes people don't realize how nice things are until they are gone. Maybe she just realized it? May I still call her SB? LOL Glad you thought about the checkoff list; you are one smart girl!

3 more days left!!!

Things are stirring in the closet tump, but keeping the door closed!

Roux

About that closet- sometimes I keep stuff in until the time comes that I can let it go. I wonder if you are waiting for your next appointment? Or until you will be out of school and alone in the house during the day?

About SB- no, I had made some sick little joke, and she laughed. Honestly, I would like her if she was a neighbor. We have the same taste in clothes and antiques- lots of stuff like that. The same warped sense of humor, and we know all the same techs since we both have worked in both hospitals up here. It was the work relationship- her tyranny. I might have lunch with her once in a while.

3 more days and tomorrow is hump day!

tump, I think that is why things are stirring, the next appt. I am starting to feel more anxious now than I did before.

That term, "hump day", always cracks me up.

How was your day today?

It was good. I feel good- I caught up on my sleep yesterday, paid bills today, got all my licenses and registries renewed, got that car business taken care of, did some grocery shopping, and I am cooking dinner.

I'm looking for a good movie to watch tonight. It's going to be hard to relax. I was thinking about this. When my cousin was here, I started working extra hours as they were offered me. I worked 26 days in a row, then took 2 off. I worked 14 in a row, bringing me thru Sunday night/Monday morning. I think it will actually take some effort on my part to relax!!

tump, understandably so...Your body has to adjust too. My first week off next week will probably start with projects and back to p.t. I too have a hard time relaxing, the ADD doesn't help.

I know you said it was cool to swim, can you take a nice evening walk to help you relax?

Ready for the post whenever you are. Do not feel that you have to be around.
