ok, thanks...:)
so my friend and i are really close...her mom is actually my counselor! 🙂
she is really religious, and i have recently(this summer) become a christian(or working on it anyway) and it has improved things for me immensely..however, i tend to ignore God when i get really upset...which is totally counterproductive because He wants to be there for me when i am upset...

OK, so on to what she told me...she told me that i just need to open up my hands and stop clinging to all of my own problems...i need to let God have control of my life and let Him decide what gets in my way...apparently God never gives us more than we can handle, no matter what we may think about that....so in other words, she was telling me that i didnt need to think about suicide because I CAN get through this...she believes in me i think more than i believe in myself.but she apparently has been through depression also to a degree and she turned out okay..she is one of the most inspiring people i know...

basically if i let go of the things that are holding me back and weighing me down and the things that i cant let go of, it leaves me with more space and time to help others who need me...others who need my adivce, others who need my comfort, others who need my listening ears.....etc, etc...

she opened my eyes to new opportunities and basically said that it will take work and it will take effort to wake up every day and start it new and make the decision to be okay with who you are on that day....because God will help us every step of the way...we are who we are because we have Grace..and nothing can change that. So i guess with the help of God's grace I can make it through...

there's something about what she said and how she said it that made me look at everything differently...lots of people have told me that i need to let go of things in order to be okay with other things in life and in order to be "needed" by others...if i only need myself then i wont be able to help anyone else....but she just phrased it differently and she made me see the light and she also made me realize that there is always HOPE....we will always have hope, no matter what.....

(i tried to rephrase what she told me as good as i could...)

JM:

I think your friend is showing you the path that is good. She is correct, in my opinion, on her points. May I give you two of my most favorite verses? I'd like to share them w/ you. They help me get thru a lot, and maybe I need to see them now too. Here they are:

Matthew 6:34-35.

34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Romans 5:2-5

And we[b] rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we[c] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

here's one of my favorites:
2 Corinthians 1:5-6
For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.

it was interested last week when i went to campus crusade for Christ's weekly meeting ....i wanted to die earlier that day adn thought i just couldnt go on and was really sad and depressed...the topic of the talk that night was"feeling alive"...how cool is that....my friend and i believe that God really wanted to show me what i needed to do....what i needed to believe in.....i needed to realize that there is hope and that i really do want to live...it was just crazy and it filled me with God's love to think he would go to the trouble of knowing i needed to hear a talk that inspiring....it was amazing

Have you ever seen a queen anne? It is actually a weed but i think one of the most beautiful flower created.
and paste this first and the 2nd addy second. We are goin to show you what queen anne's lace looks like, but then the 2nd is gonna show you much more.

ok, SORRY, I copy/pasted the addresses here and they were only 2 miles long. So, lets do this.

go to yahoo.com, click image, type in
queen anne's lace, go to page 5 and then scroll down to the last row. Picture 1 and picture 2. If you click picture 2 you will see what i am talking about as i type on.............

On picture 2 you can see the underneath side of the queen anne's lace. can you see how the long stem goes off into a branch of smaller veins and they each go off into smaller veins and they go into smaller veins, etc. etc. etc.

This I like to refer to as life. You have the main stem or vein that brings food to the plant, it waters all the tiny flowers at the top. Oh, did you notice on the front view that it looks like a regular flower, but when looking at it from the bottom you can see it is a bunch of tiny flowers.

Anyway, life is like this queen anne. It goes to the stem and branches out to others to others to others, etc. Our lives are like this. For everything we do it has an affect on someone else, and that is called the ripple effect. What you do today will touch someone else and so on. You may never see or know one of the folks your life touches, but if you were not here then what would happen to each person. they would have a void in their lives whether good or bad.

Makin sense so far?

i think they are okay.....i just needed some time to forgive her again...and she actually sent me a letter telling me what she had wanted to say to me when we got into the argument but she knew i would probably end up blowing up at her again if she called, so she sent me a letter, which was nice for me, because maybe i finally won something for once.....

but we are okay i think...she is coming up to visit me next week for a day or should..should be fun..we are going to celebrate christmas together then since i will be goign to my dad;s this year for christmas and wont see her agian until january i think

I am glad you and your mom worked things out. Can I ask tho, I'm curious....

You said forgive your mom again. Is this something that ya'll have a disagreement w/ regularly? Is there a way ya'll can get whatever worked out on a permanent basis? maybe come to some agreement?

it seems like i always have to be forgiving her for something...but it hink alot of the reason i get so mad at her is because she is so different from me...we have different personalities, different interests(well, some of the same interests), and we just function differently....

we have been through some tough stuff in both our lives, the fdifference being that i went through it when i was young and she had ot deal with it when she was older....so i think she constantly expects me to get over things like she gets over things.....i hold on to things too long....but she obviously doesnt...i dont really know exactly..

i think with time i will be able to talk to her without losing it(i mean talk to her about important things) but it will just take time...i have to be confident with myself before i could even begin to open up to my mother...

I agree. There is one thing you can do tho that would maybe help w/ your having more understanding and forgiveness toward her. Pray for her each night when you go to bed. Pray that she be more understanding and that you be more leneant. See what I mean?

I think prayer can cover a multitude of problems.

yes, i do believe that prayer can cover so many problems and issues, which is why i have made the decision to pary more often..even daily...i need to and it will also help me with my walk with God...

so i will keep that in mind, and even though she is not a believer, i will pray for her every night....starting with tonight before i go to bed!

thanks mamaC! 🙂
