I am currently participating in the wonderful thread regarding "The Secret" show.

If you are not familiar with it - it's about tuning into the laws of universal attraction and "attracting" positive things to come about in your life through expectation and manisfastation of these great things.

That's great. That's all well and that's all good -have even experienced it myself in the past.

But what really "gets me" and an answer that no one has been able to answer me to my satisfaction - is what do you do with the "periodic negative energy" that is - oh so a part of life?

It just can't all be mamby, pamby life through "rose-colored glasses" stuff?

(Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer and the authors of "The Secret" and all.)

This is where I have a REAL problem with all of this talk.

There is talk about all this "abundance" in the world - but - practically speaking - how do you talk to someone about "abundance" of - let's say....water....in the desert regions of the world?

I need some real answers!

Can someone PLEASE help me here???????

Are you asking how do I (or others) handle negativity, or when something bad happens?

I guess I need to go read the thread... as I have not yet read it.

Perhaps then we can continue this discussion?

I think the main thing is to not let the negative take up any more of your thoughts than you can help it. Long ago, I took a mind control course that emphasized positive thoughts. My teacher said that everytime you say something negative, that you say, "cancel, cancel" afterwards. Then replace your statement with something more positive. Negativity is often nothing more than a habit. Example: Instead of saying, "Well, I'll be damned," say "Well, I'll be rich." Just a minor adjustment here and there.

What is your source of anger? If it is another person, you are better off avoiding that person. If watching the news on tv makes you angry, don't watch it. You mentioned in another thread that you were attracted to chaos, is that correct? Well, chaos is negative. That's a habit you need to work your way out of. Concentrate on enjoying peace.

Positive thinking and laws of attraction are not magic. It isn't going to bring water to a desert area. But, if you keep a pleasant frame of mind, be choosey about the type of people you spend your time with, you can't help but improve your life. Your surroundings are a reflection of yourself. In reading so many of these threads on this site, have you noticed how miserable and unhappy so many women are simply because they hang around drug addicts, alcoholics and physically abusive men? How can they possibly find happiness when they surround themselves with such horrible company? Someone said, "we are the company we keep." Lot of truth there.

Also, in a dress for success book I once read, it said to dress the way you would dress in your dream job. It is all about acting the part in order to get it. Or fake it til you make it. The way you think about yourself, the way you present yourself, those are the ways others will perceive you whether it is a true representation of you or not. If you act like a class act, people will assume that you are.
