Hoping you're having fun on vacation. I was at the beach the other night and the moon was glowing on the calm waters- it was warm and there was no wind. It was a totally cool experience to contemplate the fish story sitting there on the sand. We're like right on the verge of completely getting this verse. It will probably come on its own now with time.

The gospel of Mary- okay with you if we discuss that later? maybe we could start a thread for it. Mary is super controversial kuz of speculation about who she really was, or was not. I just think discussion of mary could chase people away that might otherwise post.

I like your interpretations of Thomas- I've not heard of or thought of viewing Jesus as the big fish- very cool insight. People view Jesus as the fisherman, or God as the fisherman and Jesus as simply describing God or gnosis. Because of your openness to other ideas and your knowledge of the New Testament, you seem able to correlate the two gospels and I'm just so drawn to that.

I know that these Gospels have been called gnostic forgeries- I've never been a fan of the "banned book" idea so I read them anyway.
