touch the hearts lord of people that need you. as i need you. thankyou Jesus for the love and the support you have given each one of us. amen

Faithful One, so unchanging,
Ageless One your my rock of peace
Lord of all i depend on you
I call out to you again and again

All through the storm Your love

I am thankful to you Lord, my love, my life. Thankful to your being by my side through last year, and in those times when I ignored your presence. I am forever grateful to you. Please come into me today to help me live by your will and in your grace. Amen.

"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. Exodus 14:13

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' " 2 Chronicles 20:17

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ”- 2 Chronicles 7:14

I see people are already breaking the new guidelines. I find this very troubling. This shows no respect for the site coordinator and is not going to heal the issue but just keep the wounds open.

Hey Kathygy, You saw the tread title "God's Will" - Now, tell me truthfully, didn't you have just the slightet HINT of what you might find in here?

I think you are being controlling. Why not choose to just let it be? You are not the SC, so back off ok?

DTEE...well said.

The SC created this board and it serves a wonderful purpose- to provide support to those of us struggling with codependancy, and this is, IMHO, completely inappropriate and disrespectful- to deliberately and intentionally defy, with malice, her wishes.

There are people in pain here...their lives are filled with fear, loneliness, addiction, confusion, despair. For some of those people, the path to God is actually BLOCKED because of the religious association...not cool, and not what God would want. He is free to all...religion or none. Is that so hard for people to understand?

There are newcomers here with bad lives and real problems, as well as the rest of us who are doing all we can to keep our heads above water and just SURVIVE this day....people need this site, and the insite of the people who visit here. I don't NEED to hear quotes from Scripture...I need to hear someone say "Oh honey I've been there...it'll be ok!"

The SC has done a good thing in creating it and managing it...let's not disrespect all that hard work by deliberately disrespecting the guidelines of this board because they conflict with some of our personal beliefs.

People need this site and it needs to be managed...we can't pick and choose which rules we will and won't follow...it is not our site. We are guests, and I for one am a very appreciative guest.

This isn't helping the people who are in pain...we need insight, support and wisdom, not conflict, disrespect and controversy...my goodness, I've had MORE than my share of that!!

peace guys, and please chill!! There are too many good people here for this kind of thing...let's get back to basics...supporting each other! We need each other...our lives are hard enough.

Sorry if I've offended...not my intent, but I do find this thread offensive, not because I'm anti-Christian, but because it's just not a cool thing to do.

May I clear up the confusion? I think the SC requested that the Bible not be quoted.

In order to provide support for everybody, people must be allowed to speak their truths.

"Gods will" is a person's truth. Any intelligent human being should recognize what this thread is about and avoid if they sense it will offend them. Geeze whiz.

I'm not offended by the content, itself, but the by the blatant disrespect to the site coordinator who runs this board. Like it or not, she has asked people not to do this, and it's her site. This thread was not intended to propogate the Good News...it was meant to slap her in the face, as it was started today....after the guideline was enacted It's a passive agressive attack, and it's rude.

What specifically has she asked not happen? Remind me again, because in another thread, you mentioned that it wasn't the mention of God, but quotes from the Bible. So which is it?

Secondly, how can you decide what a person's intent is?

I was just thinking--would this kind of disrespect be tolerated at an al-anon meeting or a coda meeting?

Probably not. But, this format is not the same as a meeting. We are anonymous and not held accountable to that extent.

No 2b- discussion of religion and use of religious references is not permitted at meetings, for this exact reason.

Intelligent human being??? Now you choose to question the intelligence of those who read this thread out of disgust as they knew it was clearly posted after the guildline came out.

Just curious as to what is meant by your comment.

This is getting out of hand...loss of respect..let it go, ok? No one is proving anything, and all Beleivers here? do not need to prove anything to anyone. Please just drop it, let this site go on as it has before...and oh well.

Artist - You know what your intent was. Any religion, quotes from religious book (bible, book of mormon etc) don't belong here. That is the bottom line........this thread was not cool at all!

artist,

yes, the title of this thread is 'god's will'. In the 12-step program there is a slogan, 'god's will not my will'. I thought your thread was refering to that slogan. I find that slogan helpful. I do use God in my recovery but not the bible.

Could I just apologize for my comment regarding "intelligent human being"? It was rude and I'm sorry.

I was just getting frustrated with the complaints about quotes, then going and reading more threads that they KNEW would offend them. It just doesn't make any sense.

But I'm sorry for insulting you.

I've been on other support sites and stuff like this pops up everywhere.

The problem is people who really need support or have something to offer that is on topic may not post because of all the drama.

Kathy what I find troubling is that you find how it offensive that others would talk about their religions as a base to their healing.
I say whatever works to make someone heal is acceptable.

I had a friend once that quoted the bible to me all the time and I wanted to strangle him, but b/c he "found" God, he was able to heal his life.
I resepcted that !

Some of us use self help books, some use the bible, there is nothing troubling about that.

There is no need to post in threads where those that want to refere to religion can, cause then you are just making trouble.

Let's just all get along..we are ALL here for the EXACT same reasons...to heal
