Ok,
so my mom's refusal to pick up my aunt till her sugar was low
enough was brilliant. It worked, and the doctor recommended
intermediate care. Within three days, her sugar was down to 119,
and her gait was steadier. Trudy discovered that there are some old
friends from church there, as permanent residents. She has people
to talk to! She is able to concentrate on the dietary info they are
giving her.
She'll be out in a
couple of weeks.

Mom
has been sent, by Trudy, to the house to get personal belongings.
She has had to go in Trudy's room, and guess what?
She's a hoarder.
She found about 300 grocery bags stuffed behind the dehumidifier,
and around 100 cups from jello pudding. In the bathroom. I told her
to call the show, but she said, "I'd die first". Lol. I still
giggle when I really shouldn't. Patty's husband started on the
basement, where Trudy does her painting and sculpting. He found
maybe 50 soda can cardboard boxes. She saves these to collect
sticks from the yard in, then throws them in the dumpster. It
camoflauges the sticks. The trash pickup won;t take sticks, you
see. She gets over on somebody. lol.

hi
Craig, yea. I cant believe it, but the congestion is still there.
Made this long trip and did all that to get the best surgeon to fix
it but its still there.
I still needed the
surgery. Its just disappointing that my main complaint hasnt been
solved. I'm gonna see the doctor again tomorrow. Yup it
sucks.
For the first few
days it was great. I slept real well and it was just amazing to be
able to sleep and dream.
The weight thing,
well, this is all started when I gained weight after I stopped
being a student and got a job. I started eating and gained 30 lbs.
That might be the reason. I'll have to try to lose 15 lbs to see
how things go.

Hey
Miss Hepburn,
It took me a
couple of beats to realise what Mom was doing. At first, I thought
she was just fed up with her sister, but as of last night, she is
helping her all she can. But she is making Trudy take tests!! lol.
(She's a retired teacher!!) Quizzing her as they learn about
glycemic index best foods, etc. She's making her work for it. But,
she is eating each evening meal with her, having the same food, so
she doesn't have to do it alone. And, that's kinda cool.
for
her.
The best part of
this, for me, is that I can see is that Mom stated boundaries. I
really don't think any of this would have happened until she had to
draw the line with my sister, who rehabbed from crack 3 years ago.
She still drinks, and manipulates people for money, attention. MY
sister. Mom finally drew the line, and won't let Sissy run all over
her.
It's been hard to
hear about and watch my mom go through this, without saying much. I
did it while Sissy was still on crack. I stopped taking her calls.
I stopped sending money, gifts that she could return for money, or
handmade gifts that she wouldn't take care of. Daddy was next, but
Mom was last. I spose moms usually are.
ANyway, it's been
an eye opener, especially the way my Aunt Patty lit into my mom
when it seemed like she was backing out of the game. Patty freaked
out.

Also,
the fact that I could state the boundary with my mom, and her
volunteering me... she accepted that, so she has learned to respect
a boundary, as well as stating one. 5 years ago, that would have
been huge drama in itself. "Oh Bevdee said she won't help those who
won't help themselves" or "Why are you trying to do me
in?"
Seriously. This
might seem like such a small thing, but it's really not. She also
accepted my apology for raising my voice when I sad "NO",
graciously, not injuriously, like she did in the past. The world
has tilted on its axis. lol. a little.

Wow.
Well, as long as the Polar Ice Caps don't melt. HA
Seems like a lot
of progress has been made. Not sure why this is but, because I'm a
mother things that happen with my kids are put on a different
level. When things happen with my sister or another family member,
it cuts very close to home. I think it puts ME back as the child or
sibling.
One would think it
would be that way when things happen with my kids. It's just
different. I don't know how to explain it. But your mother having
to deal with her sisters has reminded her of where HER place is in
her family dynamic.

hi
bevdee, thanks for that suggestion. I had a simple allergy test,
testing a few things. I'll ask the doctor about a "full allergy
test".
Yea well Whoppers,
why didnt I think of that!
I'll do anything
for good sleep. I'm on a mission now, I'm going to get this done, I
dont care what it takes. I'm gonna keep going.
