No cheating. If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose? Pick your dessert, and then look to see what Psychiatrists think about you!

a. Angel Food Cake

b. Brownies

c. Lemon Meringue Pie

d. Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Icing

e. Strawberry Shortcake

f. Death by chocolate (Chocolate on Chocolate Cake)

g. Ice Cream

h. Carrot Cake

Now scroll down for your personality type...

OK - Now that you've made your choice, scroll down to see what research says about you!

ANGEL FOOD CAKE...Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

BROWNIES...You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of under dogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your sabre. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor direction. You tend to be very loyal.

LEMON MERINGUE...Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.

VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING...Fun-loving, sassy, humorous. Not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE...Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. You tend to melt. You can be overly emotional and annoying at times.

CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE...Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

ICE CREAM...You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

CARROT CAKE...You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends.

I chose Strawberry Shortcake...mmmmmmm!!

Sorry...don't know what happened to ice-cream...here it is...

ICE CREAM...You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

Revelation,

Great thread! I'd be lemon merengue pie, but I have to disagree with the psychiatrists.

First off, did they do a massive study of people and actually have them choose these desserts, and then compare their personality types with their choices? If so, we have WAY too many psychiatrists in our midst. :o)

Second, I'm hardly "Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands". I must admit, I'm a fair speaker and can even teach on occasions.

I like lemon because it seems to be restorative. It rejuvenates me in a way I can't really explain.

I dunno...Perhaps we have too many psych students on our hands! There was a thread here last week that looked like it was started by one of them...I think the person thought they might get help with their thesis here!!

I love lemon too...nothing like a lemon sorbet to refresh.

My really favourite dessert is my mammy's sherry trifle...but they don't have it up on the list! I wonder what kind of person you are if your favourite is trifle???

"Sweet to taste but overall a bit of a mess"!!!!!!!

I'm death by chocolate, but they forgot to mention 'Chocolate is both cafinated and with bitter untertones, so following suit you also likely have a coffee problem and so, probably have stained teeth, and are sometimes scatterbrained from lack of sleep. This of course likely results in low self esteem, making you easy prey to partners who are quick to reasure you and tell you what you want to hear, probably people with low self esteem and maybe control issues themselves. After years of therapy and addressing the codependant issues that helped you to remain in these relationships, you may or may not one day heal and live a rich rewarding life. It is recomended that you immediately give up chocolate cake and develope a fondness for carrot cake."

Or, maybe that's just me. I think I need some of that sherry trifle--hold the trifle. I think I know what they would say about THAT being my favorite dessert!

revelation,

My guess is you're nobody to trifle with. Your emotional honesty and integrity will disarm anybody who might try to get in your way.

How's that, and I'm not even a psychiatrist. Both my brothers are, however; does that count for anything? :o)

Lolli,

Good to have an excuse to post you again.

People like to hang out with you, according to your preference for carrot cake. See how many people are on this thread right now? It's true. We're all here hanging out with you.

Take care.

Seeker, thank-you, thats a nice compliment....its lovely when someone recognises a quality you have worked hard to bring-out. I wasn't always so emotionally honest...in fact I was the opposite! I worked hard at that one!!!

Lolli...for some reason that one-liner cracked me up!!!

My favorite is the Sahara ... oh, wait, that's a desert ... only one 's'.

My favorite is whatever dessert they're serving ... I'm not too picky.

Guppy, can you walk and eat lemon merangue pie at the same time? Or eat pie and chew gum at the same time?

lol

Guppy,

{uh, seeker-why would i want to chew gum and eat pie????}

For the sheer sense of accomplishment and self-esteem it would bring? To boldly do what no one has done before? To have something to brag about to your friends? To start a new fad? To prove you're unique? Any or all of the above will do. :o)

{for food i can do lots of tricks like get in the front of the line.}

LOL!

guppy lol!!!!

I used to do that trick to get free alcohol when I was a poor student!

I'd gatecrash anniversary/21st/30th/retirement parties with a couple of friends and say "yeh I'm a friend of Mary" if anyone asked (Everyone in Ireland knows someone called Mary). We got caught one time...very embaressing, we were asked to leave!!! [hang my head in shame].....oh the good old days!!
