.......but why do you suppose I get weepy and incredible goose-bumps all up and down my body and spine when I listen to Aretha Franklins' "Amazing Grace" or "Never Grow Old" songs?

Hmmmmmm!

Aretha makes me cry, too! So does Amazing Grace played on the bagpipes, and that Patti LaBelle!

I believe the hymns stir childhood memories - they do for me.

I get goose-bumps too. For me it is childhood memories..all of those old hyms and the good memories of grandparents in TN. Anyone remember the old fans they had in the pews, ...with the name of a funeral home on the back?!

TruthBt,
We all have spirit and emotions...some things effect us all differently. When I see our Airforce fly I get goose-bumps, they are so talented and precise.

good thread!

kd lang has some great songs too - especially on her CD: Ingenue - have you ever listened to it?

Although the entire CD is incredible - I expecially like "Wash Me Clean" and "Outside Myself"

bevdee (and others)

The time has come for me to wish all of you best wishes.

I feel that I have finally "outgrown" this site inasmuch as I do not want to keep re-hashing the past.

I am forever grateful to all of you and it is with sincere hope that I wish all of you the peace and safety that all of us deserve.

This site had helped me more than words can express.

All the best for each and every one of you!

Sincerely,

truthBtold - AKA - Brenda.

Miss Truth

Hey, I'll miss seeing your posts. I haven't been around as much lately either.

One more suggstion, since you're a southern girl and you like Janis Joplin. You might like Lucinda Williams. She's from Lousiana, and the girl rocks! She and Janis weren't born too far apart. Port Arthur- Lake Charles.

Rehashing the past. It's necessary to realise it, acknowledge it, own it and then you gotta push past it to move forward, don't you? Otherwise you can wallow. I'm struggling with that myself.

I wish you peace too, Brenda. Keep writing your poems.

thanks Bevdee,

Anyone else who gets goose-bumps over 'Retha and the bagpipes spuring out "Amazing Grace" and Patti LaBelle belting out gospel is always OK in my book!!!!!

(Getting a little teary-eyed now......)

I will miss you bev. You have felt to me like a long lost kindred spirit. (Have to stop now before I completely soak the keyboard........)

((((((MUCH LOVE)))))))))) Brenda

I'll miss you too. You said you are leaving, so I don't know if you will read this, but if you are reading ...

You can come for a short visit now and then, caintcha? I'm usually in some Tump or Rouxlady thread, just not as much in the past month.

I wish you love and joy on your journey, Brenda.
