Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused and wondering if anyone can 'splain this to me.

I have a turtle....who up until about 2 hours ago....I thought was a boy. I'm not really sure why I thought he was a boy....I just did.

Anyway, my "boy" turtle seems to have laid a couple of eggs. Okay, fine...so he's not a he....he's a she and I'm okay with that.

My problem lies with the fact that .....she....is the only turtle I have (and I've had her for 4 years).

So....someone please 'splain me.....where'd the eggs come from and what the hell do I do with them?

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.....

p.s.

I tried google....it was less than helpful

Hi Lolli:

This site may have what you need. We had a great site last year when my youngest decided she wanted a turtle but I'm at a loss for what site it was. Anyway... check this hout..

Lol. I did find this site (http://www.turtlecare.net/eggs.htm) which says......

"If your female turtle has not seen a male for more than two years, then the eggs are probably infertile. Fertile eggs are usually covered with a sticky mucus."

Thanks to everyone for the info.....

Unless I have a magic turtle on my hands....I'm going to assume they are infertile.

I never realized that turtles laid eggs regardless of whether or not they mate.

It is true that you learn something new everyday.

Hey....wait a minute......Unless she's been sneaking out at night!

Is it possible that teenage turtles are as sneaky as regular teenagers? LOl

Thanks again

Lolli
