Just something that I have been wondering about.........
I noticed that the U.K kept the pound while it seems that many of the other countries converted (by choice?)
There has been some chatter a while back about perhaps a uniform North American currency (combining the peso, american dollar & canadian dollar) into one, though haven't heard much about that lately.
Many here are much more in the loop than I am about these sorts of things, which is why I pose the question thread question.
(p.s. - this all came up over the week-end in talking to my fiance about Greece and other nearly bankrupt european countries right now ~ as I had this radical notion of - what if let's say, the Greek government for example just decided to print up a bunch of their old currency and then, in crop-duster style - just dump a whole bunch of it over the land?
No, I was not high when I thought of this in case any of you were wondering.....:-)
I mean, what was the reasoning behind the euro anyway? Anyone know?
Personally, mu gut tells me that it was a bad idea........
