Hi
Ladies, I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving as
well.

We had a nice
time...quiet. Unfortunately however I lost not one friend but two
in the days prior to Thanksgiving so much of my holiday weekend was
spent attending wakes and funerals.

Beyond that I have
been swamped with work and school so I'm sorry I haven't been
around much. Believe me, I'd much rather be here gossiping about
the Real Housewives! lol.

I'll be back as
soon as I can....

wow
lolli...you are way tooooo young to be losing that many friends
that often....wow. Sorry to hear that...what a way to put a dark
cloud over the holidays.

Good luck with
school work and work...I am close to final's week myself and
seriously trying to accept that I won't be pulling a 4.0 this
semester....yuck! my ego is hurting.

won't believe what
I did....had a paper due - about two topics...for some reason I
thought we had to PICK ONE of the two....so I only did half the
assignment...which she said was a shame, cuz the rest of my paper
was fabulous....thank GOD she graded everyone on a curve...I
guess....I got a 75 - while EVERYONE else got 90 or better...even
the crappy papers!

so I am still
kicking myself for that screw up.....oh well, can't change the
past.....sigh.

Thanks Rising....yes you are right...I am too young. However as
the saying goes...you live by the sword, you die by the sword. And
unfortunately many of the people I know (or used to know) live very
rough lifestyles so dying early is not all that uncommon. One I was
certainly more shocked by than the other, but both very sad
non-the-less.

That sucks about
your paper. It's hard to keep track sometimes of everything that
has to be done and when. I have two papers that need to be done by
next Tuesday (a 2 page and a 5 page) and now my Chemisty professor
has announced that he is pushing our exam up a week. So now on top
of the papers, I also have to read two chapters, do my lab and
study for my Chemsity final....all by next Wednesday.

I honestly have no
clue how I am going to get it done. All I can say is that I will do
the best that I can ....and that's all that anyone can ask of me
πŸ™‚

Wish me
luck!

oh
lolli - my week is ALMOST over.

I had a mountain
of clinical assigments to do, plus a quiz, 7-chapter test and a
research paper due.

somehow I got the
paper done wed.

and I chose to do
clinical assignments until midnight, skipping studying.

I asked god to
help me know the answers when I took the test.

AND IT
WORKED!!!!!!!! I am still in awe...and grateful.

I think I got
close to 100 on the test and I KNOW I got 100 on the quiz (and I
NEEDED that grade).

I even had the
presense of mind to reread my paper and saw some format errors I
got fixed.

and everything is
done on time.

WAHOO!!!!!!

off to my spanish
final - verbal section...uck.

Hey
Ladies: Hats off to the students! Keep up the good work. I know its
hard but the rewards are worth it and an education is something you
will always have and an accomplishment to be proud of. I have 3
degrees,(worked my ass off to get them and was on the Dean's List
and Presidents Lists) BUT I am ruined. I can't "do school" anymore.
Not even a cooking class. I just can't make myself stick with
anything like an organized class anymore.

I'm doing well,
(((((Lolli))))), thanks for asking. Rainy day today so I'm making
soup and reading. Going to see True Grit tomorrow (opening day
here), going to a Hawaiian brunch Friday, but wishing I was in a
warm tropical spot for the holidays.

Work has been DEAD
so I am hoping that next week will be better. But if not? I think I
can retire and be OK. So, I'll probably officially be semi-retired.
Whatever that means when you're self employed. Not going to worry
about it.

Exbf with the dye
job was here Saturday and took me to lunch. Nothing new there, he's
still happy as can be in that itty bitty town drinking beer every
day with his buds. I think he's given up that I would be even
remotely interested in ANYTHING like that. And he only said
sumvabitch once. Funny.

What are your
plans for the holidays?? This is your second (???) Xmas since you
got married??

Hey
SD....thanks for the support. I'll tell ya...working full time and
going to school at night is no easy task that for sure and I'll
take all the support and encouragement I can get!

My husband and I
want to see True Grit too. I'm on vacation next week so we will
probably see it then. I know he is really looking forward to
it.

Too bad things
didn't work out for whatever the reasons with dye job (I say that
only because I would like to see you find someone that will treat
you like the lady you are πŸ™‚ but I'm glad that you can be friends
and at least you both have good company for lunch. I had to laugh
though about the "sumvabitch". I once knew a woman (and her twin in
fact) that used to say it similarly only with each syllable
enunciated "sum-a-na-bitch". Cracked me up every time.

As for the
holiday's...yes, this will be our second Christmas as a married
couple (3rd in all). Time sure flies, don't it? We are having a
Christmas Eve Party (which we have done every year) mostly for his
side of the family although some of mine comes as well. It mostly
for the kids as it is when we have his children and all of their
many cousins come over and exchange gifts. It's a madhouse but a
lot of fun. The kids then go to their mother's and hubby and I will
go to my Dad's house on Christmas Day. As I mentioned I am on
vacation next week and we are not going away this year because of
all that is going on with his son so he will be with us for most of
the week. We basically just planning some day trips and relaxing
time around the house. I also bought both kids new bedding and
whatnot for Christmas so I am looking forward to redecorating their
rooms. I don't know if they will be as excited about that as I am
but I do hope they like it. You know how I love a make-over
πŸ™‚

And what will you
be doing for the holidays?

Hey
lolli - hats off to you! I could NOT imagine working full time and
taking classes....I am suffering financially right now, BUT, there
is the payoff, my degree will be done faster and less
distractions.

SD - hats off to
you too! My golly, three degrees! I think I would be burned out
too. Thought I LOVE learning, so couldn't imagine being turned off
to taking classes. But after three degrees, maybe I would feel
differently.

I am back in CT
with my brother and the kids for the week...WOOHOO! I miss it here.
Can't wait to get back.

Going to apply to
the state university and try for my four year....they say it's uber
competitive....out of 200 applications, 5-10 are accepted...wish me
luck!

gotta run, baby is
crying...talk to you later.

Congrats to all of you school-goin' girls! I know how hard it
is and how much praise you deserve - keep it up and you'll be done
before you know it.

Happy holidays to
everyone! Since we had our holiday get-together this last Saturday
- I'm pretty much free and clear to just relax from now until the
3rd of January. Tomorrow is my first day, by myself, at home -
without a to-do list that's a mile long! And supposedly - tomorrow
is our first day of sun in several days. (SD, your frogs can begin
the rebuild of their homes).

The rain has not
been nice to our property these past few days. We've got lot's of
water, where water isn't suppose to be. And a brand new problem
that we'll have to access once the sun comes out and it dries up a
bit. The squirrel burrows and rabbit warrens have apparently taken
on so much water, that they've become sinkholes on our property.
Since I know that these critters make their homes at least three
feet under the surface, and as far out as they can possibly go - no
telling how much damage is done that we can't even see yet. I'm an
animal lover - but I'm thinking that the critters are going to have
to find another home.

I'm off in another
hour, and then on vacation for the next 10 days. I'm happy. To top
it off, tonight is date night, and there is a bottle of great wine
waiting for me at home. :o)

Aww!
Don't be too jealous rising. It consisted of coming home to a
sinkhole in our driveway that needed to be filled in (stupid
squirrels and their burrows). After shoveling mud, we slapped
ourselves together and went to have some mediocre sushi. We may
have had big plans for the evening, but we both passed out on the
couch by 8pm. Good times. I do know how you feel though. And you
certainly deserve a good date night. Now that your finals are over,
and Christmas is almost over - do you have any "friends with
benefits" type of guys in your life?

no,
sadly, no fwb guys at all...not many guy friends...my math
professor, but don't think he's interested....I threw out some
bait, but he didn't bite....either not interested or professional
ethics type stuff....either way, no.

my coworkers (from
old job) have said it's their mission to "get me some" since they
are all single and enjoying playing with the boyz.....so we'll
see.

tho really, I want
"date night", not really sex night....if that makes sense....I want
the connection, not the sex....but I could use some of that too,
just don't miss it as much as I miss the connection.

funny, I would
take what you did over what I go thru...cuz it would have been me
alone shoveling mud back into the hole.....I had to shovel my house
and car out before packing it myself to come down to brother's for
the week.

oh well...my time
will come.....
