just
cuz I need something lighter to focus on....

you mentioned
kelly's breakdown on this last season of housewives of new
york...OMG - can you believe the crap they put on tv? or what we
watch?

not sure of ramona
tho - she is a close second to kelly in the cuckoo department!!!
that whole thing with "turtle time" on the pier....too damn
funny.

I cannot cannot
cannot stand the stupid countess and her choices of boyfriends are
too freaking unreal...and I laugh at her expectations for an
apartment...she is prolly very broke now that she is not married to
money bags.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE
alex, but hate simon....I think he's in the closet.

and I ADORE to NO
END bethanny - I wanna be her......she is crazy funny...and on some
levels....I think of her when I think of you.

anyway....I just
hope all is well in lolli land and that everything is rainbows
unicorns and gummy bears for you!!!!

Hey
Rising....long time no see!

I have to admit I
am a Real Housewives addict. Between work and school and constantly
have to think, work, study, etc....the Housewives is my mindless
guilty pleasure and about the only thing I watch on t.v. (I dvr it
and watch it on weekend mornings when I can).

I think NY is my
favorite cast, and like you, I love Bethenny. The girl cracks me up
(and I take your comparison as a compliment, ty :). And as much I
enjoy the drama of those Houswives shows...I enjoyed her own show
just as much, if not more without all the drama.

I can't stand the
LuAnn who has no class in my opinion despite her endless assertions
to the contrary. Nor can I stand Jill who I liked in the first
season but she lost me with her horrible, catty and childish
behavior this past season.

I like New Jersey,
OC and Atlanta too (in that order) but didn't care for DC all that
much...although I did watch it.

Beyond my
Housewives watching....everything is fine in my neck of the woods.
I'm crazy busy with work and school and ready to embark on a
custody battle for my step-son but other than that....everything's
great 🙂

And how are my
cyber-twin?

Oh
and Kelly.....yes, right out of her mind the poor thing.

And how about
Danielle from New Jersey????

That one is
certifiable. She's actually a little scary.

Hey
you two, howdy doo.

Geez, I've yet to
see a Housewives show other than trying to watch Desperate
Housewives once and not knowing what the heck was going
on.

Lolli, custody
battle? How did that come about? Glad to hear all else sounds good
with you.

I am
so glad you guys responded, I needed a break from the
craziness.

I think danielle
is SCARY! I would not want to run into her in a dark alley......I
think it was sooooooooooo freaking funny that she felt she was such
a victim that she needed protection!!!!!!!! I think the others were
the one that needed protection. I came into that series pretty late
in the game, so I don't know the history, and wonder why she was
even involved, other than for ratings????

Yeah, I lost the
loving feeling for jill too....but (no stereotyping here) jewish
women can be like that...at least many of the ones I know. I just
can't deal with luann's "fakeness"....just rubs me totally
wrong.

alex's kids are
heathens, but they are raised in true NY city style - so it's not
uncommon to see kids like that in the city.

ah well.....it is
a guilty pleasure (kind of like my toddler's and tiara's too). The
duggar's and other shows on multiples too.....dunno why, but makes
me appreciate my two that much more!

I record all my
stuff, and then catch up on the weekends.

life is
crazy...just was notified that my landlords are moving forward with
foreclosure...not sure what it means to me or how to find that all
out...have alot of conjecture, but it's all based on the bank's
next move...and they won't tell me squat cuz I am not the
owner.

my car died - all
of my MIL's cars died....I bought a new one, which ate up all my
finances - and my MIL is paying me NOT to move back to her house -
cuz she knows the strain we would all be under (and the
misunderstanding that he would have - misreading the
situation)....so she is pitching in to help make ends meet so I can
maintain my own little place.

the kids are
good....billy and I are getting along (he has no chick right now,
so he is amicable)....my little boy is growing like a weed and
wicked smart.....the kids fight like cats and dogs....despite the
age difference, they both act like they were close in age.....C
just found out she only has ONE credit to earn to get her advanced
regents diploma and still has one year of school to go...so she is
WAY ahead of the game and thrilled I pushed her so hard.

life goes on...I
am trying to keep my eye on the prize...I go "home" every so often
to see why I am bustin my ass so hard....I am tutoring at school,
plus my full workload, plus managing the kids and household...I am
at the end of my rope most days.

but I know it's
all worth it in the end.

some
good news -

my GPA goal - 3.8
(tho I secretly wish for a 4.0)

my midterm grades
- 3.85

I have an A in
everything (including the hardest - pharmacology) - except nursing,
which is an A- - but on the cusp of an A.

I am tickled
pink...I can sleep happy tonight!

Rising..... YES, you are AWESOME 🙂

Congratulations on
the AWESOME GPA! It's no easy task I know.

I still have the
4.0 but am really struggling this semester. Chemistry is not my
strong suit believe me when I tell you and unfortunately, I don't
have time for a tutor so it's going to be whatever it is. I'll be
disappointed if I lose it but there is only so much I can do,
right? I have certainly come the realization that college is not
really made for people who work full time!

I'm sorry to hear
about the car, house, situation. Nothing's ever easy is it? Sheesh.
I'm glad things are better between you and the ex right now though.
It it SO important for the kids and all too often people forget
about them. I hope it continues to stay that way for their
sake.

(((SD)))) Wassup girlfriend??

Yes, custody
battle. We have filed for custody of my step-son. It came about
because his mother is crazy and he has asked us to get him the hell
away from her.

I can't even
imagine my child disliking me so much that he can't stand to be
around me and has to beg someone to get him away from me. But that
is exactly what has happened. It's sad really but unfortunately she
can't see past the end of her nose and is completely unwilling or
unable to do anything to change the situation. Talk about a lack of
self-awareness and no capacity for insight! That would be an
understatement for this chick.

But it is what it
is and hopefully we can get him the hell out of there before
permanent damage is done.

And how are things
with you?

Hey
girls (and freeandii the parasite) -

Never really got
into the real housewife series, although I'll come across a
housewife marathon while cleaning on the weekends sometimes. I'm
HOOKED on Dexter, True Blood, and Rescue Me though!

Busy these days
with our house. It never seems to end! We got a great deal, but it
did need work when we bought it - and we knew that. But every time
we turn around, we're handing over another 2 or 3 thousand dollars
to have something repaired that was never done right to begin with.
GOD! I just feel broke, and now the holidays are coming up! It's
going to be a frugal holiday - oh well.

Glad to see you
girls ((lolli))((rising))((SD))

Risingfromtheashes -- hey. I just wanted to say hello. You were
very helpful to me a couple months ago when I was writing about
unemployment, etc...

I have a lot of
admiration for you -- I hope to get back to school someday, but I
can't swing it yet, and I don't even have children. I truly am in
awe of you.

I'm going to try
and find my old thread on the other side and bring it back up so
not to hijack this one. I just saw you here and wanted to say a
litte hello and thanks. Congrats on those grades!

crystal - hijack away...I create these posts on here for all to
enjoy and have to real agenda, other than love and support (and
often some drama and chaos - debate, banter, whatever) from anyone
who wants to join....even in the chaos, steam gets blown off, so I
see the benefit where others may not.

anyway, I have
always wanted to go back to school, the conditions just became
"right"....when I stopped trying to control life - things fell into
place.

which is why I am
not stressing about the husband or anything involving him....it is
what it is.

Lolli - I was
prepared to have a 3.8 - but I would cringe if it went lower....but
you are a smart cookie and even if you blow chem - you still have
your other grades to keep you floating at a pretty decent GPA -
maybe both of us need to let go of our virgo tendencies to require
perfection from ourselves.

anii - I AM
awesome - thanks for the compliment! I worked my butt off under
some extreme circumstances to EARN this grade - and I am damn proud
of it and nobody can burst my bubble. I went thru high school
afraid to get good grades cuz I would be bullied for being so
smart. I am not afraid anymore....I am smart damnitall, and I am
not ashamed of it....hiding in the corner, supressing my smartness
is not going to pay my bills.....people who bully me aren't going
to come by and pay my bills when I am passed up for an opportunity
because I threw my GPA to suit their needs.

I am far from a
genious...but I have been blessed with the ability to learn, retain
and apply what I am taught. I am thankful.

Shanester - frugal
holiday huh? I signed up for toys for tots for the kids...but my
kids are pretty content with what they have and because we live in
such a rural area, they don't "see" the volume of stuff that is out
there - they don't get the "I want's".....cuz we are limited to a
kmart and walmart....so they don't know what they want. My son is a
busybody and just likes to run...he doesn't do toys, except to make
a mess with them....so it's a good year to be "frugal" for me...cuz
there isn't much they want....C wants a kindle, but realizes they
may go out of style quickly....other than that, she would be happy
with a new video game. I have good kids. I think this year, I am
the one with the big xmas list - only cuz I have ZERO clothes...and
all my money was spent on nursing uniforms!...anyway, I put a $50
limit on my kids and the rest of the family is going
without.....sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do....C always
had a big xmas...but it was always a waste....I am starting B out
so that he doesn't think it's a big deal, so perhaps I won't have a
high "bar" set early on.

I just saw
housewives of beverly hills advertised...GOOD GAWD! Kind of like
law and order or CSI - the spinoffs just aren't as good.

I was watching
some old recorded shows of NY housewives because I didn't catch
some of the reunion shows...it did get old and I had to delete
them.

I LOVE the
househunter shows...but am so far behind...I long for a house on
the beach in some foreign land....that's why I am going to be a
nurse!!!!!oh someday anyway!

Thanks, Lolli :).

How old is your
stepson? I grew up with a pretty crazy mother -- I hope he's able
to get out of there soon and be with you and your husband. It's
unfortunate that a Y chromosome is still widely perceived as a
liability when it comes to having custody of one's own child. My
father fell apart for many years because of it and my brother has
now followed in his footsteps. Dad quit drinking, brother is still
a raging alcoholic.

I'm hoping that
your husband is staying strong in this fight, and am happy that he
has a supportive partner (you) because a healthy love relationship
can make a LOT of difference in many other parts of one's
life...

I don't have cable
tv, and where I live you can't even get 2-13 anymore without a box.
So I haven't seen any of these housewives shows. Gee, maybe THEY
are what is needed to shed light on the fact that women can be
psychotic too!

Anyway, thanks for
the welcome.

rising: You ARE smart so we'll let you slide on that! I am SO
proud of all that your are accomplishing for yoursle, I really
am.There are going to be good things in your future.

Lolli, my dear- I
just love when you pop up and timidly express yourself in your
quiet little way (he he he!!- not!!). I really admre how you have
stepped into your new life and accepted all thats coming your way.
your life has changed dramatically too- all for the
good!

Mustang Shaney, my
pal- always good to see you. Although a lot of work, your house is
probably a lot of fun to fix up.

Not a whole lot
new for me. Work is still EXTREMELY slow, biggest challenge is
kkeping myself somewhat occupied doing something. I'm doing docent
training but not sure I'm going to follow thru on it. Have taking
up hiking/ walking- and participate in group hikes on the
Peninsula- it really is gorgeous up there and so close.

and.........I have
a date on Sunday. I'm afraid to get excited because he seems
somewhat normal. He's successful, tall, has hair and teeth,
slender, 3 years older than me, lives by the beach, no kids. So
far, so good. I went out w/ another 2 weeks ago- nice enough- but I
really am not into pony tails on guys anymore. Thank
god.

Hi crystalwaters:
nice to see you around.

Yoou're welcome rising, a 3.85 is tough to do. Keep that goal
at a 4.0, it's like shooting for the moon, if you miss you land
upon the stars. I love that saying, heard it somewhere, and it's

Hey
SD,

What are you
saying....Im not suble or something? Lol. Oh hell....I just gotta
be me ya know? And I believe what WD does is wrong on so many
levels and those that feed into it and encourage that behavior are
just as bad as far as I'm concerned. They are not doing him any
favors and they are certainly not doing some of the more vulnerable
members of this site any favors. But whatever. Like attracts like,
ya know what I mean? Lucky for me too....to have attracted you
wonderful gals 🙂

Anyway...on to
important things.....do tell about your date. I can't wait to hear
the details...teeth and all, lol.

Oh and guess what!
I ran into the exex and his new girlfriend. She seems very nice and
they have a 1 year old son!! Crazy how things change
huh?

Zowza, exex has a 1 y/o???? Well, good for him, huh? Yeah,
subtle Lolli- you nailed it!

The date was sort
of good. I think he's cute in a nerdy sort of engineer way. He has
a crooked tooth that makes his smile sort of cute. He's very tall -
at least 6'-- and rather thin. Has hair and all his teeth, and a
little mustache and goatee. We met at a Greek restaurant and he
asked me to order for him since he's unfamiliar w/ Greek food. But
he ate all of it so he must have liked it.

Lunch went rather
quickly- convo was ok and pleasant- he seems a bit shy and nerdy
but OK. We were sitting outdoors and it was interesting watching
people walking by in costumes, lots of dogs in costumes too- really
funny.

anyhow..........he
sort of cut lunch short so that he could go see his ex who is in
the hospital- so I don't know what I think of THAT! At least he
told me??? Its been a year since they split and they still talk. We
shall see what (if anything) happens from here. He wants to retire
soon and move to another state (by Soulsister!!) and start a
landscape biz- how 'bout THAT??

He seems a little
awkward socailly- like he shoulda coulda walked me to my car before
racing off to see the ex?? Oh well. Maybe he's already history and
I don't know it, but I don't think so.

BLEH- dating
sucks!!

There
is room for improvement in all of us, and nobody is "better" than
anyone else. Especially here, in a place for self-reflection and
growth.

Hi
Crystal,

My step-son is 13.
I think (hope) that the judge's decision will rely heavily on what
my step-son has to say. So far he has remained steadfast in his
desire to come live with us and because of his age, his opinion
should have a major impact. In fact, he may even be 14 by the time
the judge or guardian ad litem (if one is appointed)gets to
interview him, which from what I understand would have an even
greater impact as the older the child is...the more their opinions
are taken into consideration.

I feel bad that so
much of this will fall on his shoulders but unfortunately that is
just the way it is and for his part...he seems to be up for the
task.

I'm sorry that you
had those challenges growing up. I grew up in an alcoholic home
myself and know first hand the effects it can have.

BUT...it can be
overcome. And I am proof of that. I'm not perfect by any
stretch...but I sure have come a long way baby 🙂

Take care,
Lolli
