Hello Ma Strong. Thank you so much for your words of wisdom? If someone is in a mental state where their mind changes like a light bulb and wasn't taught anything positive from their upbringing, does't God still expect us to look for ways to soften our heart toward our fellow man? My husband's excuse is that he was in the Military and was taught to cover his own butt. How do not know how that other people's feelings are affected too? Am I still making excuses for him? I am going to seek Christian counseling but I'm not sure that he will come with me. Thanks So Much

As Christians, we are to extend MERCY to those around us. However, it is NOT God's will for any of His kids to be trapped in a toxic, abusive relationship. I can be merciful and kind to others, while still maintaining healthy boundaries of what is/is not acceptable behavior on their part. I think that is the goal: to find your boundaries, learn how to present and maintain them, then see what changes (if any) result.

Please keep me posted?

I will, Cossandra. I read on the "Support" side where you posted about being married to a man with no humility. That does sound like a living hell. Arrogance, pride and an "I am perfect, so you must do everything my way" make for a hellish relationship. Especially if he is controlling, to boot.

Stand strong and plan your escape. You deserve a life of peace and being appreciated.
