So, i was wandering the aisles of the local Blockbuster trying to find a movie that I wanted to watch. I picked up one and then realized I didn't really want to see it. So, i put it back. I kept wandering aimlessly looking for something to catch my eye, I turned around and literally in the middle of the shelf, directly in front of me, was "Conversations w/God". It was definetly a sign. It was such a good movie. For anyone who is struggling with anything in their life, it is really a spirit lifter. It was truly amazing. Even better, it was based on a true story. I actually watched it twice, and cried both times. Has anyone else seen this movie? Evidently the man that the story is about is now touring and doing lectures based on his experiences. Truly amazing what you can do with God in your life. I cannot even imagine, nor do I want to, what my life would be like if I hadn't accepted Christ into my life. I strongly recommend this movie for everyone to watch and make sure you have a tissue box handy. They will be tears of joy and happiness though!

hi Giggles,

I hate to pop your bubble, but be VERY careful of this movie. It is a feel good movie, but from my perspective it is slighly off. Neale Donald Walsh teaches that "we are God". We are not God, nor are we equal with God. Look him up. These are the kind of things that will confuse the heck out of people.

You didn't pop my bubble, I don't believe "we are God" and never would. I just meant the moral of the movie 🙂 No confusion here, but thank you .

I made the decision some years ago not to watch any movie that does not depict God as God almighty. My decision followed a study of much of the Old Testament. Israel, God's chosen people would not even pronounce His full name out of fear and respect. I am not at all judging you Giggles. I am to guilty to judge anyone, but God communicated either directly with His people or He used a prophet (or a burning bush!) so it is easy to get a glimpse of how seriously they took the name. You can think about it.

Giggles

interesting thread. I hope the movie is available here. Would like to see it.

I agree man can never be God, but the Spirit must live in us.

Here is some interesting verses to ponder on

Joh 6:56

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

1jo 4:12

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1jo 4:15

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Joh 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Till later

Matthew 25:40 "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. ... 25:42-" For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me."

Mother Theresa took this passage very seriously, and it was the basis for all of her work with the poor. She said that when she bandaged the sick and poor and dying that she bandaged Jesus Himself. She also said "The poor are wonderful! They give us so much more than we give them."

So there is basis for oneness with God in the Christian faith.

Wannabe, I don't agree with how the movie portrays man as God at all. I just like how the man's life improved once he accepted God. I guess I should have worded it better. I know man can never be God.

Dear Giggles, There are 3 books out there called " Conversations with God 1 , 2 , and 3 are about the best books I have ever read. Nothing but spiritual insight from an author I cannot remember his name just right now. Not sure about the movie but this thread helped me remember those books. If you get a chance look them up. The author had his own conversation with God and there is also a CD named "conversation with god" which is just music. horsefly

Me: Hey God, whatsup?

God: (no answer)

Me: Are you there God?

God: (no answer)

Me: Fine, I'll stop believing in you

God: (no answer)

you guys gotta treating this god guy like some holy canoly. He's a regular guy like me.

Last night me and him were watching G4's wired for sex. he said he felt guilty himself when they were showing the convicted pedopile!

Stop treating him like some holy guy. Look him in the face and say "Whats up?"

Come on, do it! Are you afraid? Dont fake it for me. It does nothing for me, its only for yourself.

"Oh I'm so offended and angry because guest_guest is abusing God so viciously :(("

Hellooo people! I'm abusing God, not you. Can you relax? Um, heard of co-dependence?

So yea, you all are good people. As for God, definitely. He's not a good guy. He sucks.

What kind of God would create Poison ivy, hyenaas, cockroaches, salmonella, aids, mosquitos and life terminating pancreatic cancer? hmmmm. yea.

People not engaging with you guest doesn't mean they're offended by your tyrade.

It just means you're having a tyrade.

And nobody knows what to say.

I'll take a shot.

God can handle your anger, which you are justified in and entitled to.

Is there any point in abusing a fictional character?

Would you abuse the tooth fairy for not delivering money in exchange for your tooth?

hi Tez, we have to make fun of the LORD so when the upcoming generation is growing up, believing in God becomes less and less fashionable and more embarrassing for them. We really dont have to do anything though, the bible's great testicular verse does all the work.. all we gotta do is write it out.

Now its impossible to change the tenacity with which these people believe in the bible, but the next generation sure thinks twice about believing in God when its being made fun of. Hmm... yea.

SO you guys have decided to take on God's influence in the world. Good luck with that. You have some hard work if not impossible work ahead of you.

If millions of adults still believed in the tooth fairy's influence upon the world after leaving the rest of their childhood fairy stories behind, I would show the same level of compassion in trying to free them from their childhood delusions.

Only a complete lack of compassion would free me from the compulsion to disabuse an adult of belief in the existence of the tooth fairy.

hi OMW, God told me today he's tired of all the people praying to him and asking him to do things! He said, screw it, I wanna be like guest_guest and log on to the internet to watch youtube videos.

He's tired. He said he was thankful to me for trying to lessen the number of people asking him to do things!

Not to mention the poor fellow has no control over hurricanes but gets blamed by irreligious people all over the world for all the destruction
