When I am feeling extremely needy and stressed out, I cook. I know this is not the "FoodTV" website, but I wanted to share this with you guys, because cooking is a great way to nuture those you love, yet nuture your own soul, at the same time - in a healthy way.

The Ultimate Sauce

8 oz. bacon
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 carrots, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
1 onion, diced
1# ground beef
1# ground italian sausage
2 glasses red wine
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
2 bay leaves
1 28 oz. can tomatoes with roasted garlic (Contadina)

Cut bacon into strips, saute, remove from pan, drain. Add olive oil, dice carrot, celery, onion, saute 5 minutes. Add beef and sausage, mash together with fork. Saute till no longer pink. Add wine, simmer till no longer red.

Add herbs and toms. Return bacon to pan. Bring to boil, lower heat, cover and simmer 90 minutes.

Serve with rigatoni, and invite your loved ones.

Hope this takes away some loneliness...works for me!

Thanks Ddog,
ireally enjoy cooking , and when Im going through"something i also find it a comfort... I'll try thr recipe after I unpack all my Kitchen stuff in our new apartment..
One of my bestest friends is a chefy, andshe alsways puts Love as one of her ingredients, she says If you forget to put love in the recipe , It just doesnt come out right... I think of her saying that everytimei make something, and I thought I should share it.

Sounds delicious!!!! Im salivating already!!!!

One thing I forgot...

Buy the $15.00 per pound Parmigiano Reggiano, cut off the rind, and drop it in the sauce while it simmers.
THAT is the secret (and the love!)

Definitely worth it, and still cheaper than going out to eat.

Plus, you then have a wedge of the most impressive cheese known to mankind at your doorstep!

:o)
