In your posting you on 31-Jan-05, you wrote:

"AA kills more alcoholics by feeding them a continuous supply of bullshit cookies that don't work and since they don't work Alcoholics either drink until they die or put a gun in their mouth."

Then you said:

"~Actually, I don't attend meetings. I am trying to find other ways to form my fellowship but I absolutely refuse to go to meetings because, aside from the steps on the wall and what they call themselves any semblance of solution isn't there."

"My last drink was a Well Vodka & 7-up on September 18th, 2002"

Hmmm! Being not yet even 3 years dry(not the same as sober), you are a newbie who isn't attending meetings - very dangerous. AA calls that being 'dry drunk'. Now I can see the reason why you wouldn't know very much about that of which you speak.

"~What is your point? "

This is my point, mate:

Forget about forming your own fellowship; you are still a very sick and suffering alcoholic in the very early days of your 'recovery', loosely speaking.

As a member of AA for over 32 years now, first hand, I have seen a great many very sick alcoholics recover. Blinded to this fact, you would seek to badmouth an organization about which you obviously know very little or nothing.

You may one day, not to far off I suspect, desperately need to crawl through the doors of AA, an organization for which you now have obvious contempt.

The beautiful thing about AA is that they (and I) would shrug off your meanderings above as symptoms of the disease of alcoholism and welcome you just the same as they would any other sick alchy. That's unconditional love.

Speaking of red herrings, you asked:

"What was the last step you worked?"

What step that I might or might not be working is highly irrelevant to the issue of your slandering - from a 'safe' position of your anonymity and on the internet too boot - a fine organization to which a great many people, living and dead, who owe their very lives.

My unsolicited and undoubtedly unwelcome advice to you my friend - yet freely given in your own best interests despite what you wrote - is to get back to your meetings ASAP with lots of WHO - Willingness, Honesty and Openness, just in case you've forgotten. Remember, your very life may well depend on it very soon. 'AA doesn't need you, but you sure as hell need AA' - presuming that you are a fair dinkum alchy, that is.

I can second Tez's warnings regarding the dangers of being a "dry alcoholic" as they call it. I'm one of them and hell, I went 3 1/2 years without drinking, just smoking pot, which for me was damn near sober all thigns considered....then a big whammie falls into my lap and I become a lush again. Dry out. Lush again. Currently in lush phase. Drank every night this weekend and slept all day.

Drinking sucks. It's dangerous to try to do it alone.

There is rational recovery for those with higher power issues.
