....which give an "American Perspective" from a non-US source?

(I used to be able to watch BBC back when I had extended cable - but no more.)

I would just find it interesting to see and find out what other countries' perspective of the current US state of affairs might be.

I downgraded to very basic cable.

(Get about 20 channels - including religious, local county government stuff, the major networks etc....)

Tried to decipher the news from the spanish channel "Univision" - but - seeing as I don't speak or read spanish - kind of hard to read between the lines.......

)Please note that links(s) should be text (not video) as I have dial-up and videos are impossible to view.)

Check out the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) website at http://www.cbc.ca

I think CBC Newsworld can be accessed through the main website too.

If you live near the border you may be able to pick up CBC radio as well. (the website probably lists the frequency you can pick it up on at various locations).

two of the more neutral newspapers in the UK. They have online editions that you might find interesting

Also, you can listen to the BBC radio online...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio 4

might be up your street

And the BBC telly has 'iplayer' where you can listen to shows after they have been broadcast...these include news programmes

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/

you can watch the news from earlier that day.....

tbt,

you asked for text links since you have dialup. Check out http://www.thetyee.ca

today's headline article compares Obama to Canada's former Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau.
