The
French have a stray dog problem. So fishermen cruise around the
streets and collect them, hook them through the upper lip and nose
and and toss them overboard for use as live shark bait.

Can you
imagine?

These are fellow
human beings doing this to fellow sentient beings.

Wow
that is crazy. I guess though dogs to us are like people in fact
some people treat dogs better. So it sounds awful to us, but to
them well when the retreat they decide to kill helpless
animals.

I think there has
got to be a cruelty limit with other living things. Then again look
at how they kill chickens and what not.

Makes being a
vegetarian sound better and better every day.

I've
been on the edge of vegetarianism numerous times. But it's actually
not necessary- there are Kosher foods and free range chicken egs
and such. Money is a problem- foods that don't come from mass
production are more expensive.

Aside from food
though- some stuff is just uncalled for. Using live dogs for shark
bait? the dolphin and pilot whale slaughter in denmark is sport. As
is dog fighting. Whaling is for food. But these are sentient
beings. They are aware of what is happening, they can
intellectualize it. There were three flippers in the movie
"flipper" for example, the their one was named Sandy and she
actually committed suicide. Dolphins choose to breathe it's not
automatic and one day she came up to her handler (Rick), who knew
she had been dpressed, and let herself sink, choosing not to take a
breath. Dolphins and whales don't belong in captivity, they are
there for our entertainment and financial profit that comes from
that entertainment. Orcas will only leave their pods upon death or
capture. the ones at sea world were taken from their families.
Dolphins and whales actually grieve. As do Elephants and Gorillas,
and chimpanzees.

I could go on and
on. There has to be a compromise- we have to eat and we need
protein, but do we have to inflict such pain and suffering in the
process of obtaining it? And do we have to inflict such pain and
suffering in order to be entertained?

I just don't think
so.

Holding dolphins and whales capitive to entertain humans is
cruel.

Egg whites are the
purest form of protein there is. Cheap too. No reason why man cant
eat them for protein. If you eat something all the time you will
habituate it if you do not eat something you will eventually loose
your taste for it. No good reason why we have to slaughter
animals.

Clipping a birds
wings, then cramming it into a small cage where it lives within
inches of its excrement so someone can look at it and make it say a
few sentances is senseless. Birds are extremely intelligent
animals.
