Well, after recently losing "Gilligan", now Agent 86 has passed away.

I loved Get Smart, it was my favorite show growing up. He was also the voice of Tennesee Tuxedo, my favorite cartoon. ("Chumly - we're going to escape from the zoo!")

A talented and very funny man.

Rest in peace.

Yeah, the famous shoe phone. And that was well before cell phones were invented.

Just had a funny image, drunk-dialing my ex from a shoe phone! Like, a stiletto! "You bastard!", poking self in face with heel, etc.

LOL!

For sure on high heels!

And what was his partner called? Agent 99? She was an adorable cutey!

How they flirted with each other on that show. Did they ever marry and have little agents?

Those were the days when TV was more submissive (right word?) and mysyterious, not downright rude and open like today.

Well, Sew, I guess we're the only people who remember Get Smart.

The Cone of Silence? Where they'd all sit around the table and go. "What?!" LOL.

Reminds of of when H, our neighbor Derek and I all decided to switch to Cingular...we all went to the store and got snazzy new phones, and now whenever we call each other, we're like, "What?! Sorry! Are you there?"

Cone of Silence, indeed.

Hey, you two. I used to watch that show too as a kid. Don Adams had such a distinctive voice. A few years ago when I was on a trip, there was an older guy in our group that had a really quirky sense of humor. On one of the plane rides, I sat next to him and found out that he used to be one of the producers of Get Smart. Also Leave It To Beaver, and the original Star Wars. Really interesting man, never would have pegged him for a Hollywood type. Finally quit the business after a heart attack. Just my bit of trivia.

Wow, SD. Cool!

I wonder if Get Smart is available on DVD. They showed some excerpts on the Today show this morning, and it made me crack up, just like the old days. Actually, even more, I guess because of the nostalgia factor. Like watching 3 Stooges which I always hated (was that a "guy" show, or what?) but I saw an episode the other day and actually laughed.

Maybe laughter comes more easily as we age. Because we learn the misery that can happen in life, and any respite is a welcome one. The times of happiness are the ones that matter the most.

:o)

Would you believe....a troup of boy scouts and a bunch of angry hound dogs?

Oh, how about the one where Max and 99 are trapped in a tank filling with water, looks like they are doomed...Max says "((, if we ever get out of this I'll marry you." To which Barbara Feldon replies "Max, I've got an idea, all wee have to do..." OF course Max says something like "Now lets not be too hasty."

Oh, or the one where they are running from the bad guys who are shooting at them and 99 says they should hide in the scary amusement park ride, and Max says "Are you crazy? There are gollywoggles in there!"
