Can you see, people simply cannot see that:

- their unproved religious belief, is just as stupid, senseless and idiotic as the other guy's belief?

It never ends!

Spirit: relating to the spirit ... of which we have no proof that it even exists.

Is it about feeling good? Lets just call it that then. We should wait on the use of the world spiritual for the moment when scientists prove we do have a spirit. If we use the word now, what word will we use later when we find out we do have a spirit?

Oh I didnt know Mo talked to the previous prophets on his Miraj journey?

Mo: Sup man, yo

Jesus: Nothing much

Mo: Same here

lol

G_

That's why I said "spiritual path" and enclosed that in quotation marks. Let me ask you this. Do you see any similarities in the significant events in Mo and Big J's lives as recorded in the bibles - the Holy bible and the Q'uran and any other historical documents - other than what I listed?

I don't care if it is proved or not- I'm looking for similarities in the bios for the metaphors.

Actually I dont know much about Jesus's life. All I know about Christianity are these few verses I like to put up every now and then for fun, heh.

How about a similarity of holy journey? Mo did that Miraj where he went to the heavens and they said Jesus went up into the heaven too when he died, stuff like that?

Yea I really dont know much about Jesus to compare him to Mo. I found this book though:

G_ dude.

Thanks for the link to the book. I won't buy it, though. I just wondered if you knew off the top of your head the timeline of MO.

My oh my am I glad I ran onto this thread, not. I was looking for a specific somebody, but since I have and I am way behind in this posting so here goes. Excuse my tardiness please.

Guest, you said.."A word is what it is. You'll have to bring me sources to make me believe otherwise."

Yes, Guest, it is a metaphor. You see it is because there are folks of all types, believers, non-believers, those that say yes but mean no, visa-versa.

9His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,
" 'though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.'[a]

11"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. Luke 8:9-15

Hey WDad

I thought about this today

- 27-Dec-07

"Hi Bevedee,

Meet me in the esoteric thread.

Guest: Please do not meet me in the Esoteric thread."

Umm- no.

I will be sensitive to your thread. I don't believe in the non-existant god that most do, and until sufficient proof is offered, I don't believe the story of Jesus as Saviour of the world, Son of God, dying for our sins. I don't believe any of the 16 previous saviour stories.

If my occasional skepticism leaks out, (and it will) to avoid being misconstrued as amusement or perceived as criticizing your religion in your thread, I prefer to post my thoughts on this safe pace thread.

What did you want to talk about?

Hi BEv,

Never mind then.

Answering your question well would require getting into esotericism.

And I don't feel like being ridiculed by guest on the topic.

Suffice to say:

Jesus never said he was or claimed any special divinity.

"I don't believe the story of Jesus as Saviour of the world, Son of God, dying for our sins. I don't believe any of the 16 previous saviour stories."

Jesus did not believe in those things either. And neither do I.

Jesus did not get to choose what people said about him after he died, what was put into the New Testament--and I think those things would appal him.

WDad

Come on, now - G_ can come on that thread and ridicule you any time he feels like it, can't he? And you can respond or not. Even though you kicked him over here- he still has the freedom to go wherever he wants to.

WHen you say - "Answering your question well would require getting into esotericism. " ? This brings me to another question, and I will ask it on your thread.

Hi Bevdee,

Like I said. never mind. I thought you were asking a question, when in fact you were just thinking out loud. I do that all the time.
