I understand you Bonita. Me too. Grrrr!

I only panicked 'cos I've never heard of "tylenol" (we don't have so many chemicals & pharmacutical remedies here in England and we are very aware of the damage of mixing them, or overdoses, allergies etc. It's all high profile in the media here.)

I was brought up to avoid artificially stopping natural reactions by force or chemicals. I was taught that often, 'the body knows best'. It will use fever to kill bacteria, and vomiting to get nasty stuff out. But perhaps I'm wrong. You are doing a splendid job here and I admire you hugely.
Love, gazelle.

ps ...though obviously too much fever can kill, and too much vomiting can dehydrate, spread germs etc. I just meant that in the immediate short term, the noise, smell and drama of vomiting attracts attention and distracts from pain and releases built-up tension. Obviously not too often - just in extreme distress, like poor little J last night.

Fascinating! I like to learn about other customs in other countries.

Tylenol is acetaminophen and is safe in the proper dosage, not like children's aspirin which can cause Reyes syndrome.

Also, I secretly checked on the internet what triaminic and that other one (can't remember the name) were all about and they were not fever reducer's.

I am like you, too, in that I let my kids have a little time with the fever because I know that the purpose for the body's elevated temp. is to kill germs.

But, I am there monitoring that the fever does not get dangerously high. I get them in the tub or shower with cool or tepid water to bring the fever down.
