Although this is not really a conventional "self-help" method, I've found that music helps me when I am feeling down. At times, it also inspires me to do some things. There are some songs that I can't listen to, because it takes me back to bad memories. Other than that, I've found that it helps me when I just want to listen to something and get away from things.

Wonderful topic & You bring a Great point. I remember some Quotes about the *effects* music has-
A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.
~Leopold Stokowski
Take
a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons. You will find it
is to the soul what a water bath is to the body.
~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.
~Maya Angelou, Gather Together in My Name
Music
cleanses the understanding; inspires it, and lifts it into a realm
which it would not reach if it were left to itself.
~Henry Ward Beecher
Music is the medicine of the breaking heart. ~Leigh Hunt
Music
expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and
before speech, and it is above and beyond all words.
~Robert G.
Ingersoll
I can so Understand about the *bad memories* but I also recall the good ones too...& how the music helps even Answer some
Unanswered Questions~ Hopefully You found that to be True for You. I couldn't Agree more with how music can take You away
from things~ It sure does it for me... Inspires me to a whole new Level.

Wow, thanks for posting these! These are beautiful quotes and really explain how I feel about music. I only wish that I could play an instrument so that I could truly express myself. But listening to it, blasting it in the car and singing off-key, does a lot to help, too. 🙂
Greetings purplesaber~
You are more than Welcome! Thank You for Allowing me to do & I'm Happy You liked the Quotes... They pulled at me to grab & Post.

I love listening to classical music. Many people think that classical music is boring so they don't want to listen to it. As for me, it helps me to calm down and relax after a tiring day.
Greetings dtypist~

Everything creative might be really helpful. Drawing or playing a musical instrument can very soothing and relaxing as well. Using social media to share your results and find new friends can be the option too.
I find that Instagram is a really good app for that kind of thing. Using services like https://spamguardapp.com/ also can help to delete frustrating spam and make your account more attractive. I recommend trying it out.
