I don't talk about this much, but as a child I was sexually abused for about 5 years from my step-brother who was about 7-8 years older than I.  I didn't tell my mother about it because he always said to me that I would get in trouble if I told.  I was from 4-9 years old, so I believed him.  When my mother and step-father divorced, my mother and I moved into a house by ourselves.  One evening, years later (I was now 15) we were talking about my step-brother and I confessed to my mother what he had done to me over those 5 years.  She was in hysterics over it and even went so far as to confront him about it.  He admitted to doing it but mentioned that it had been done to him also.  My question is if he was telling the truth?  Can a person who is a molestor become one from learned behavior as a child?

klkroeger11,

That would be quite hard to analyze because you were both young when it happened. I might suggest that you ask your mother's assistance upon consulting to a counselor expert on sexual abuse matters and discuss everything about what happened. You may also consult some legal experts that can help you analyze if your step-bro is telling the truth or if he's under influenced of something that's not right. Sexual abuse usually causes Post-Traumatic stress especially that you were molested at a very young age. Get some help and therapy.

Hoping for the best.

It is  direct includes sexual contact, the adult or otherwise older person engaging indecent exposure to a child with intent to gratify their own sexual desires or to intimidate or groom the child, asking or pressuring a child to engage in sexual activities.

This is a general problem in children. The catch up easily what they see. Sometime they may do such activities by watching television. If there is any loved one having such problem then take care and try to prevent it.
